Ok I'll play.
If I were being sworn in as President, I'd wear a red coatdress. Sharp shoulders, probably double-breasted, to the knee, relatively fitted. (I have owned several similar in past, it's my power look.) With sheer stockings and taupe pumps with heels, neither to be seen again till my term was up.
Although, in our Canadian system, I could see myself less in the political-power role of Prime Minister and more in the Governor General role (Queen's viceroy); the previous one reminded me of Halle Berry only more elegant, so quite the sartorial shoes to fill. For that (if ceremonial robes weren't involved) I would go more like my fall-back LBD and coat number, black with subtle sparkle, sheer black hose and heels. And I would overcome my aversion to bling. (A former colleague became our province's version, the Lieutenant Governor, so I can persuade myself it's within the realm of possibility.)
I may add photos later, and I'm still pondering the other 2.
What a fun exercise (especially in what's turning into a snow week)!
Edited to add some photos of Michaëlle Jean, our former GG.
