WIWs - forcing myself onto Team Wear

Sorted out sizing, committed to keeping things, forcing myself to get them worn ASAP
Excuse the goofy grins - I'm new at this smiling at the mirror and have a lot to learn.

1. This sweater called my name for about two months, I finally bit. Bonus, I already had a neglected citronelle silk shirt. It takes a certain mood for your entire torso be so bright.

2. Should I have tucked in the tails as you see here?

3. I'm a citron lover. The solid color over a new Ebay purchase - Equipment silk chiffon in grey scale. I love leopard and think these spots can almost pass for irregular polka dots.

Too baggy all over? Need to put slouchy trousers with fitted top? or slouchy sweater with fitted bottom?

4. . IRL the silk has this glorious sheen and feel that I couldn't resist, so formerly too-short silk dress shortened a bit. It serves for a casual look at school. The back tail IS a little longer. It also has a self belt, but I wasn't in the mood that day.

Still frumpy/dumpy? I could go shorter yet. . . Belted?

Oh, wow! You wear citron with the best of them. I am jealous! LOVE the snake print sweater - so pretty. I think I marginally prefer it with the tails tucked, but that is the neat freak in me. And also the fact that when I had a similar dilemma, Angie preferred mine tucked. Who knows if she will think the same in your case?

LOVE the citron sweater with the grayscale top - what a gorgeous combination. I do not find it too baggy all over. Relaxed, perhaps, but not too baggy. Soft. I am not 100% sold on the footwear with this. I get the bookending, but something about the shape of the shoe's toe isn't quite working for me.

Gorgeous silk "top" in the last one. I am wondering if the pattern is too large a scale for you? Maybe shortening a bit more (or a different camera angle) would change that perception. Also, take my words with a huge pinch of salt. I have a poison eye for tunics on myself (not on others) but it does make me fussier about them on others.

First of all - you look fab! I Team Wear rocks:)

1 and 2: I adore the citron blouse and the pattern of your sweater. I prefer untucked.
3: I think you get enough waist definition with the lining of the sweater, so it works, in my opinion. Of course you should try other alternatives too, just to be certain of what you prefer yourself.
4: I love the pattern of your tunic. Perhaps you could go even shorter? I'm not sure. It would have been interesting to see it with a belt, too.

I share your appreciation of silks - it is a fantastic material.

I love 1 and 3. I like the pattern in 4, but it does seem to long to me.

Here's to Team Wear, of which I am also a member! I'm going backwards here, but I love your new silk tunic in #4. It's lovely. Your new grey Equipment shirt with the citron sweater is a winner and combining your citron pieces in 1 & 2 is stellar. As for tucked or untucked, that's hard to say. I prefer the untucked grey/citron in #3 and lean toward tucked in #2. Happy wearing, MNSara.

Yes, Ingunn, I think self belted looks a little better and raises the hemline a little too for a win, win. But my students that day couldn't care less, so I picked comfort all the way Even came home and took a two-hour nap in it!!!

Loving both the citrus outfits and mostly the first one untucked. But my eyes are adjusted to that look now, shirt tails should show! And the last one looks fine but I would like it with a belt, do you own a citrus one of those? or red?

The citron is great on you. Outfit 3 is perfection! I don't think it's too much slouch at all, in fact it's very slimming on you!

I wanted to come back to say, isn't it wonderful how silk feels on the skin? And how layering over a silk or silky top feels so luxurious yet unfussy to me.

#1 - KILLER (I have *no* problem wearing a bright citron peacaot daily - and mine has come out to play a lot this year. Today in fact).

#2 - prefer the tails out.

#3 YOU ROCK THOSE PANTS!!! And as a pretty pear I want you TO SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS BECAUSE FEW PEOPLE BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY PRETTY PEARS ROCK BAGGY TROUSERS. But here is the proof. KILLER

#4 - sweet! Wear a cropped topper over that with heels and you're trending for Fall 2013.

#1 (tails out), #3 (super duper awesome slouchy all over!!), and #4 all look so good! Love the idea of popping a cropped topper onto that pretty tunic.

I've tried to reply to your thread three times today, and I've been interrupted every time! Just wanted to say I love these looks and it's good to see you. You do citron and grey so beautifully and are a master at trying new silhouettes while still looking like a proper lady (or perhaps I should say Prince). It's a challenge to rock a new look and not scare the natives, if you know what I mean, and you do it over and over again!

Great looks all! Had been thinking that the slouchy trouser look was too trendy for me, but your picture 3 look is so chic and elegantly casual, you're convincing me to think again.
I like the tunic, also, and agree that belting is likely to elevate it from good to terrific.

Well, great on-trend colours here!
You could wear pic 1 with the chunkier shoes in 3, and I really like the shirt-tails showing.
Love Angies' suggestion for the tunic too.
Outfit 3 is my overall favourite.

I'm pleased untucked is the winner, because like jayne, I've come to prefer the way that looks. Plus, the tails help break up my rear view!

Oh my gosh, Angie - you've got me glowing (or maybe it's blushing) happily at the Killers I guess we pears really can pull off slouchy trousers as long as we find the sweet slouchiness to skim our pearish parts without getting frumpy. And I'll definitely be checking out cropped jackets to add over the tunic. . .I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for pics to see if I already own anything workable. Thanks so much for chiming in!!

Raisin - wow - slimming is not what I would have expected!

Suz - silk really is a lovely luxury. That day I wore the tunic over a Uniqlo heattech top and was just about as cozy as in a sweater, and I got to feel all silky and drapey.

Beth Ann - I sitll haven't figured out if I'm a prince/princess/lady/or ??? but having fun in spite of it

Ryce - Pre-YLF I seemed to always wear clothing too big, so slouchy is second nature for me. Now I worry if I've gone TOO slouchy . . .!

Tina.b - I think Equipment puts out some of the nicest colors each season. I've been thrilled that citron has trended for multiple seasons now. I've been slowly stocking up

I love you in citron! I prefer the blouse with tails out as in #1. Great new eBay score in #3! And good call to shorten the dress, it looks like the perfect length now.
