I am taking quite a step here as I finally activated my YLF blog. Please bear with the not-so-pro photos!

So above are looks I've been sporting in the last month since I've been through my "ZOMG I CAN WEAR PANTS!!!!" phase (I'm still on that phase). I've been feeling lukewarm about the fluid blouse look since the end of last year, often feeling self-conscious of how I look on my side view (I'm busty, so it looks like the blouse just hangs straight down, making me look a lot wider). Lately, I've been trying collared fluid blouses, and so far, so good... I'm still not 100% committed to the look.

I should have worn tall boots with this outfit, but the temperatures were rising to 20+ degrees Celsius (I'm Canadian) up here so I decided to wear sandals. I am not fond of the leggings/leans over long top look unless I have tall boots on. Makes me feel a bit off-balanced and too top heavy. The sandals, despite being a comfort brand were rubbing my heels and causing callouses. I bought them online 2 years ago, and though they are more comfortable than most of my shoes, the rubbing makes it a tad uncomfy. My feet are my fussiest body parts so I'm going to be reliant on a few comfort brands from here on: primarily Naots. I have a pair of tall Naot boots coming my way next week. Expensive, but foot comfort and health have now become important to me, especially since I walk everywhere!

The jewelry/accessories are another experiment but I quite like this look. I normally like to wear dark, goth/vintage/Victorian-ish inspired jewelry with an edgy/rocker feel. I tend to prefer statement pieces over dainty delicate ones, but layering dainty little necklaces seem to have its own edge. I love how I added a lightning bolt pendant with the traditionally ultra-feminine heart and locket.

Overall, I'm still feeling this outfit out. In this style journey of mine, I want to make sure that all my pieces are comfortable yet aesthetically pleasing to me and expresses my personality. Comfort is definitely a plus in this outfit, but inner comfort as far as my personal style goes? I'd say only in my accessories.

And sorry about my hair. It's an overgrown pixie cut that's almost shoulder length. It will be updated in two weeks!

PS: I was in a thrift store that happened to have a charity event. It was nice! None of the clothes I tried worked for me though

Blouse: Express (Portofino)
Leans: American Eagle Jeggings
Sandals: Jambu
Necklaces: Forever 21
Earrings: Shoppers a Drug Mart

I'd definitely love to hear from you as to whether or not this style works. Objectivity in my outfits is not something I always have so feedback is welcomed!
