Without further ado, here are the results of this week's sartorial challenges:

#1/2 Monday: Button up and lace
took inspiration from Angie's dressed up plaid shirt ensemble, obviously. I'm also showing it with my new moto as topper, but I din't wear it out of the house. Soon I will!

#3Thursday: Denim on denim
For a more professional look I added a navy blazer on top of my chambray shirt. Straight jeans are staples of course. Cognac boots, belt and bag.

#4 Wednesday: Matchy matchy
I went all in with navy - trousers, cashmere sweater, belt and scarf/snood. Black chelsea boots and bag.

#5 Thursday: Cropped top over pants or skirt
Recently I upgraded my white button down to this more relaxed version. It has better proportions for layering with longer tails. I layered a short sleeve striped sweater over it and paired this with black cigarette pants. This outfit earned me several compliments during the day.

#6/7 Friday: Color blocking
Color blocking confuses me. How is it different from pairing pieces with different colors? Is everything that isn't monochromatic and without contrasts color blocking? However, I tested Angie's citron, olive and cognac ensemble in this one.

Please share your own outfits, too, either here or with a link to your own thread. I love seeing how you interpreted the cues. All in all, it was a lot of fun getting dressed this week, although not everything became favorites. Which one I liked best is a secret for a while longer - first, I'd love to hear your verdict, wise forum members! Which one is your favorite?

Coming up next week: Borrow from the men, unstuffy turtleneck, transform a dress into a skirt, layer two similar pieces, belt the coat.

Yay your new leather jacket is gorgeous! I also love matchy matchy day. But the cropped sweater day may be my favorite!

Great week and plenty of challenges, ingunn:-). I love them all, new moto is fab, esp with the lace skirt, but I am smitten by cropped looks, too(5-7). Will have to study your pieces to make it work for me someday in the future!.- BTW color blocking confuses me same way you are wondering. See what experts say, but yours are surely perfect for that, be it any deffinition:-).

Fabulous week, Ingunn! You look wonderful in every one. I think my favourites are matchy-matchy (but you know my love of blue) and #1 (especially with the moto!!). Absolutely stunning on you. I was a little tiny bit jealous that day because there was no way I could join in. I don't have any lace....hmmm.....

I also love your denim on denim. The touches of cognac really serve to break it up brilliantly.

Your wardrobe has become more streamlined, yet more current and more fresh. It is everything I want my own closet to become in the next year! Brava!!

Suz, thank you so much for your kind words. In my eyes, your wardrobe is there and beyond already. I think my absolute favorite was matchy matchy too, with the cropped top layered over shirt as a close second. I was positively surprised to learn how much I adored the chunky snood on the cashmere with the structured trousers. This will absolutely be repeated.

Thank you, Lyn! I'm relieved to hear that others share my confusion on color blocking. I feel a bit of the same with the concept of layering, which truly must mean more than adding a toper to make sense, but color blocking is more foggy indeed.

Ingunn,each outfit is fab and inspiring. My favorites are 1/2 and 6/7 but it is hard to pick.
I will have a separate thread to save in my blog but here they are:
1: lace. I forgot the buttondown and paired a VC lace tube skirt with a leather jacket and turtleneck for Mass.
2: denim on denim. Blue denim jacket with white denim jeans
3/4 matchy-matchy. This was hardest. I tried a houndstooth pairing with wool trousers and sweatshirt and a whole outfit of light grey. I don't really have winter matchy.
5: color blocking. I used a red puffer vest over grey turtleneck and black KUT Diana skinnys
6. Cropped top. EF grey pullover, Nexx silk shirt, BR thrifted wool flare trousers.
I am enjoying the challenge and trying new combinations.

Oh, Ingunn, these are all so fab again! Love the lace skirt outfit with your awesome new moto and I'm also a big fan of #5. I guessed the fab sweater was one you'd knitted, it is lovely. Great proportions too. I also really like the white and yellow with all the yummy cognac in #6 (did you knit that sweater too?), as Angie said, very fresh.

I loved this week - it stretched and challenged me.

My pictures are out of order, but here's what I wore:
#1 buttondown and lace and denim on denim. This is an old picture - I wore the same outfit twice, and didn't get a picture either day! In this week's version, I wore black shoes, not the blue slip-on sneakers

#2 color blocking was easy for me. I have two color blocked sweaters, so I just picked one and wore it Over a column of mid-blue, with mid-blue slip-on sneakers to match in this week's version.

#3-#4 crop top and trousers was a hard one for me. I didn't think I had a crop top, but found this cropped tee at the last minute. The sleeves on it were too narrow to wear another sleeved top under it, which left this teal shell as the only real option. It bunched weirdly, and high lighted my tummy pooch. But in the end I still liked it.

#5 matchy-matchy was another difficult one for me. I ended up going for my red/black/white plaid sneakers, and pairing it with red black and white on the top too. I liked the way it ended up working.

#6 was from last week's calendar, but not worn until Sunday - the full skirt outfit. I'm not completely sure it worked great, but I didn't feel like it was a total flop either.

Thanks for a great challenge Ingunn! I'm thinking that I want to make up a challenge schedule for myself for February also - its' been fun to have something to scheme toward each day!

Loving your crop sweaters, Ingunn. #2 strikes me as country punk. I don't have blackwatch plaid or black lace... Or a moto, lol. Still, I'm trying to figure out how I can fake it!

Amy, I'm so pleased to hear that you find the challenge interesting. I've had the same experience, and I've in fact started making a february version. Please share your ideas - maybe we can cooperate on the february calendar?

All your renditions are great. I think #3-4 were highly successful, particularly wight the long cardigan. Great proportions, and the colors are fabulous on you.

Ingunn - here's my current list - if you make a calendar I will definitely join you in following it. I was thinking I'd pick from several this month and mix them in with some of these ideas (and whatever else I come up with). Many of these are taken from a FABurary challenge at InsideOutStyleBlog a few years ago.

What an inspiration you are! I totally failed at this except the day I worked from home due to snow and I attempted white out for you in my sweats.
I love your looks in 1-2 and 5 best of these, but all work fab in my opinion.
