Hi Ladies,
It's so cold Im finding it hard to get up on the mornings so not much time to snap outfits lol. But managed a quick snap this morning.

This tunic is a bit of a go to piece. Today I'm wearing it with my Hush Puppie booties, ponte leggings, a stretch knit skirt and a sleeveless jacket over it...enough layers? Oh and I did my pop on my black coat for on the way to work:)

Think of me today, I'm popping in to a local jeweller today to see if they can cut my wedding ring off! I am feeling a little conflicted about this. It's quite comfy and moves at the base of my finger but I cannot move it up the finger to remove it. The fact that I "can't" take it off really bothers me. It's a very slim band that sits under my engagement ring, which I love, and we only got the band really for the wedding ceremony as I only ever wanted to just wear my engagement ring. I did tell DH this morning and it didn't seem to bother him:)

First of all you look great and I love how easily that sleeveless jacket just sort of blends so well with whatever you are wearing and I have to look twice to realize it doesn't just have contrasting sleeves.

Secondly, it would drive me crazy if I had a ring on that I couldn't take off, even though I rarely take mine off. I would cut it off and consider replacing it or else just go with the engagement ring according to how you and DH feel about it.

Oh I wouldn't be able to stand not being able to get my ring off! It would kill me to cut it, but I take it off several times a day, so that would not work for me. Well at least your DH doesn't mind, and it's not the engagement ring. Maybe you can use it to make a new one? That way part of it is still there.

This is just gorgeous and so your style. You never know when you have to take off your rings. I came close to having to have mine cut off in the ER when I broke my wrist.

It's nice to see a winter outfit amongst all the northern hemisphere 'looking for summer' ones. Us downunder girls have to stick together! You look great in legging and boots.

I think I would be the same about my wedding ring...in fact I have just wriggled it and discovered that it is firmly stuck in place and making quite a nice dent in my finger. I may have to follow your lead and get it cut off and resized but it will feel oh so wrong not to wear it for a few days.

Wow, you do layers brilliantly! I would never know how many different items you have on. No wonder the tunic is a favourite with you.

I have noticed more "arty" and "eclectic" so far this year and less "classic" and am curious if that is going to be the trend.

As for your ring, that sounds like an emotional experience. i would feel similarly, I think. I hope the operation goes well and you can get it sized properly.

Suz, good observation:) I think I have fought the arty / eclectic element of my style for quite some time and have only recently made peace with it. My goal though is to try and add a little edge or 'the unexpected' to each outfit. While I love and appreciate classic dressing, I just feel 'not myself'. For example yesterday I wore what was essentially a black pant suit for some work meetings, pretty classic, but I added my patent leather ankle boots and a deep blue top with an interesting neckline and draping which brought in the arty/edgy/eclectic element while still being business appropriate. My current little personal project is to work my more classic items into arty/edgy ensembles.

And thanks all for the comforting comments re my wedding ring. I am popping out shortly.

Love your layered looks, Deborah! I would feel the same way if I couldn't get my ring off. I say wear what makes you happy, in this case the engagement ring. Your hubby doesn't seem to mind, so don't give it another thought.

This is a very cool, edgy outfit. I like that you are bringing out what you feel is your "true style". That takes some courage when people are used to seeing you a certain way. Your game plan of mixing your existing classic pieces with the more arty/eclectic ones sound pretty foolproof.

Good luck with your ring! If the jeweler is on the premises, they might be able to cut your ring off and size it while you wait.

I love the way your outfits drape so beautifully. Very arty and eclectic, and I love that style. I can move my ring around on my finger, but it won't come off without a fight. It doesn't bother me, though. Good luck with your ring!

Well I had my ring cut off and the jeweller was lovely. He gave me some advise re resizing and potentially fusing it to my engagement ring to make one ring which is how it looks when it's on my finger. Will chat with DH and see

I am glad the cutting off went well! I generally only wear one ring - technically my engagement ring.

I am also seriously battling with getting up on these cold dark wintery mornings. I am going to have to start planning my outfits the day before - I just don't have time to decide these things when I am running late!

Nice go to outfit. Sorry to hear about the sluggish mornings, but that's winter... what helps me is counting days until the shortest day of the year, after which I know every new day will be a bit longer - even just a few seconds longer, but it matters to me.

Good to hear the ring thing went well, and that you even have the option to still wear it. I know it's a symbol, but it's still just a thing - what matters is that the real bond between you two is firm and there. But, you certainly don't need me to tell you that. What I find interesting is how your husband reacted, men really don't take all this symbolism as seriously as we women do, my husband is the same. When I am emotional about something (and I too would be about my ring), he is all sorts of calm and reasonable - and in the hindsight I see his was the better approach.

Great outfit! I've felt the cold here too, although I'm sure it's not as cold as where you are! Layers are the go!!

I love the idea of fusing your engagement and wedding rings together, or having the wedding ring resized rather than just discarding it.

And once again, you have layered brilliantly in your outfit. I've been thinking about why you always get the layering correct and have realized it's because of the interesting hem details on your items. Your layered pieces don't end at the same spot on your body and there's always one piece that has some asymmetry or interesting angle. Love that.
