I live in a little country town; it's old-fashioned, it's rustic and you would think we'd lead a quiet social life. Not so. Visitors turn up ALL the time, especially when least expected. So I try as a rule to look presentable. But this morning, for the first time in eons, I reverted to my pre-YLF uniform of jeans and a tee. This was OK and sensible because I was in the garden and working hard. Just when I'd decided to come in, clean off the grime and change into something a little more fetching the inevitable happened. Visitors. OK, they were lovely people and we had a nice time but I would have preferred both myself and my clothes to have been, at the very least, clean.
I've now achieved that happy state.
It's around 35 degrees Celsius today and this old cotton skirt is great because it allows air to circulate. It's actually my muslin/trial piece for Vogue 7302 but I never got around to making the 'good' version. I am trying out the orange belt (vintage French leather from eBay). It's awfully wide, too wide to wear with the cobalt blue harem pants (ASOS) as planned. It is too shortening. Question is, does it have this same effect with the skirt ?
BTW, the harem pants outfit is my current favourite leisure wear - soo comfy for watching movies at the end of the day and still presentable enough if we get those inevitable visitors.
