Hi Ladies,

I am sorry I have been scarce but find myself quite busy at the moment. And I may not be around much until the weekend as we are heading away tomorrow for a conference. If I can get wireless, I will drop by in the breaks

This is a pretty casual ensemble and not really that exciting. Not particularly figure flattering but really comfy and workable for the day of running around that was Saturday. I am really enjoying carring a clutch so I minimized what I really needed and carried my newish silver and black clutch. These booties are my new flat heeled booties and I am just loving them. They have a lovely support and they are without question a 8 hour+ shoe.

Very nice! Sleek and modern. Only this morning walking my little one to school I passed ayoung woman wearing an outfir I really liked. She she was fair haired in grey and black! She had an all black outfit not unlike yours with pale grey coat. Its a good colour combination on you.

I love your top! It's so drapey and stylish. I like using a clutch during the day too but unfortunately it's not practical if I'm out with my two boys.

I think this is a fantastic casual outfit Deborah and I must disagree with your comment about not being exciting. It's got interesting shape (the draped top), great textures (the top and the clutch), modern footwear (booties) and a modern accessory (clutch) with some sci-fi silver. Fabulous I say!

I love the outfit & I wouldn't apologize for being scarce. We visit when we can. Sometimes that is more than others.

I love your asymmetric tops & have one that I never wear. I'm going to post to YLF for advice on how to wear style it or to see what is wrong with it.

I recently discovered your blog and loved it... Somehow every outfit you posted looked perfect to me.
On seeing this photo I now know why I think we might be twins.
I too have this top, in the grey but also black and cobalt and wear them with black skinny jeans and my ankle boots? I know....unbelievable, great minds?
I hope I look half as stylish is you do when I'm out and about on the weekend.

Sara L, your boys are probably younger than my Master 10 but I bought my young man a boy's messenger bag and now he carries his stuff when we go out... and he looks cool doing it

Debra, are you a fellow Aussie? If so, which state are in? I saw the top in black but not the cobalt. I am going to have another look:)

Carol and Sarah, the boots are just from our store Rivers. The are their "River Soft" range. They are synthetic, not leather, but they are one of the best non leather shoes as the material is very soft and leather like. They have really good support and my feet feel so cozy and warm.

Deborah,this outfit is fabulous. Simple, modern and elegant. It is absolutely figure flattering as a drapey/loose over fitted silhouette. I also think it is exciting because it is so simple, modern and elegant.

I understand what you mean when you say it isn't exciting--I have said the same thing before about outfits the forum loved--but it isn't that it isn't exciting. It is that simple, modern and elegant are so much in your core that you don't have to think putting it together. It seems like second nature. Of course, it's only because you've honed those skills and they are your core style that it seems that way. Putting together a restrained outfit like this would be challenging for lots of folks. You just do it with ease. And it looks phenomenal!

I think of this as a "comfortable in your own skin" kind of outfit. It lets you do the myriad tasks of a jam packed day and still feel presentable and attractive.

I too sometimes put comfort above figure flattery but I have to say that I think this outfit IS flattering.

LOVE this outfit. I would wear it in a heartbeat. I really like the way the tough shoes juxtapose with your feminine hair and make-up. As Angie would say, very 2013!
