My cousin's wedding weekend and my relatives finally arrived! I've been stressing about what to wear for this series of events for months now. Some of you may have seen my previous dress hunt and accessories threads.
1) Night before dinner - I loved this outfit the last time I wore it and I was looking for an opportunity to wear it again. They are hard to see but I am wearing very long dangly Toledo gold earrings. I got lots of compliments from my family, who also mentioned how tall I looked. Thanks again to my Sofft Pavia's for making me look at least average height! I forgot to snap a picture of the soft gold leather tote I used for the first time that night for baby stuff. I'm sure it's going to be getting a lot of use and you will be seeing it soon.
2-6) Wedding party dress! This is the famous White House Black Market dress. The SA's at the store told me it was worn on American Idol. My ultra fabulous aunt from Chicago said it was very cute and very me. She read me completely the moment she saw me. This is exactly how I felt in it! I mostly wore the little shrug because I felt very exposed in the strapless dress but took it off later in the night for dancing. I liked the illusion of a tiny waist when I was wearing the shrug too. The 4" patent heels probably would have been ok if I wasn't carrying my kids up and down the steps and dancing in them all night. Well, I can put up with a bit of pain to look fabulous for one night! Isn't my husband so cute in his skinny black tie? Last picture shows the long dangly rhinestone earrings and the tote bag I used as a diaper bag in place of a clutch.
Thanks to all of you for putting up with months of outfit and accessory hemming and hawing. It was all worth it and I was very pleased with the final outfits. I felt that this was my opportunity to reinvent my image to my far flung family who I see very infrequently. My attire and the entire weekend were a great success!
