WIW: try 2, color blocking?

After finding out that the floral shirt I was wearing is really for a different season, and a few people suggesting that the olive and teal looked fun together, I went for it.

How does this look? Is it kinda color blocking? Does the brown polka-dot scarf work with the outfit? (Would the red super-chunky scarf be better? If kinda felt heavy for this mix to me).

I like it as is! I think this is a good outfit. I like the different tones of brown in your scarf, belt, and shoes, and the teal and olive look nice together.

And here's another version, with the peacock sweater instead of the teal tee. I think this slightly-bluer color goes better. But that's just because I'm not used to the tension of colors together. What do you think? (The scarf is laying weird in this photo though, sorry)

I like this combo. The cut of these pants seems to flatter you; I'm not so sure they would look as good if you skinnied them so please be cautious!

And yes, DonnaF, I'll be careful if I tackle skinnying these - I always just baste and try on until I'm convinced that they can work. I'm surprised that they fit me this well - I don't think I've lost weight, but I was quite convinced that they were too small until I tried them on for alterations a couple of days ago, and found that they didn't really need any. But I like the skinny pants silhouette right now, so I'm hoping to try it with these too, maybe.

I like the teal and olive together. I tend to think of olive as a neutral similar to khaki.

I altered a pair of jeans I got from the thrift store into skinnies and it worked well. I sewed the sides and then tried them on and made modifications before actually cutting off the extra material. I like the way they came out.

Love the teal and olive! My preference is without the scarf, though the outfit with the scarf works too. I just seem to like the first one more. Great colors on you!

Late to the party, but I like the teal and olive outfit also! And I like it with the brown accessories--nice job! You look great--casual, relaxed, yet stylish. You do that semi-tuck beautifully.
