Hello lovely ladies,
Long time, no WIW - but, with the new camera purchased and the prospect of somewhat calmer days ahead, I hope I'll be posting a bit more.
Last Friday Mr. O and I had signed the purchasing contract for our future house. The path to that moment had been long and very stressful, but we consider ourselves very fortunate to come across an opportunity which suits our needs so well in the new city. The house will be in the new development situated within well established residential area, close to the local school, with great connections and within easy cycling distance from the centre - all important issues for us. It is yet to be built and we now have longish wait ahead of us, but also the exciting prospect of having a chance to modify some plans and put our own stamp on the house.
As if the day wasn't exciting and emotional enough, there is an interesting detail of my mum's name appearing on our contract! My cousin, a daughter of my late mum's brother, who travelled from another part of the country to accompany us at the signing as an interpreter had to be mentioned in the contract as someone we named to represent us - and she and my mum share both name and surname
About the outfit... I jumped at an opportunity to dress in something different from jeans and wore a new dress which I bought a week ago. I loved it instantly as it had reminded me of one of my mum's favorite dresses. The dress itself will benefit from slight altering as it is cut for bustier ladies, which I plan to do at an earliest opportunity. But, the fact it is red, is made of excellent fabric, has subtle mod vibe and is cut very simply, but with interesting pocket detailing made it a winner for me.
I also wore polkadot hose (layered over fleece tights as it was rather cold on the day) and the new booties which fill a gaping hole in my wardrobe.
And that was it. It was simple, unfussy outfit that felt just right on all levels, and just what I want to work on style-wise. Simplicity, statement and pieces that I feel very "me" in.
Thanks for looking, comments and suggestions for styling are always welcome.
