Here are some outfits from this week. Not sure if any of these are hugely exciting, but hopefully they're not too boring to post.

#1: This was when the weather was still all arctic, hence the long-sleeved dress, jacket, and turtleneck. I don't think turtlenecks do me many favors, but they're so convenient when it's freezing. After a really awkward attempt to layer a turtleneck a few weeks ago (shown in #2), I decided to at least choose an outfit to make it look purposeful. Which meant a dress with a black background so it blends in more, a jacket for more structure, and something besides a v-neck, which I usually love but which I realized looks incredibly dorky on me when layered with a turtleneck. Does anyone else have ideas for how to layer turtlenecks under things without looking like a first-grader in a school portrait? Or is it only me who has that issue?

#3: I think I've worn black somewhere in my outfit for about 8 zillion days in a row, so I figured it was time for something else. I've worn this brown dress with a bunch of different cardigans (like with a gold one here), but the oatmeal may be my favorite so far because it lets the pattern take center stage, which goes along with my general effort to stop wearing random colored cardigans just because they "go."

#4-5: I was really tempted by the ON snakeskin sweater dress, as seen on Diana and Alaskagirl, and had a feeling the shape might work for me, but also had a feeling that, on me, that much snake print on something that fitted would be a little more va-va-voom than I want. And it turns out that they also have a very similar shape in this black/cognac polka dot. Bonus: I can wear brown boots with it! And I couldn't resist bringing out these matchy-matchy cognac dot earrings too.
