Hello all! We got a touch of fall weather last week; it was wonderful. It's back to summer this week, but pleasant temperatures as opposed to sweltering ones. I'm enjoying getting to wear this mustard top; I bought it last year when pregnant as I knew it would be my style.

Oh my goodness I love you in that pink! And like MG I loved the layered autumnal feel of 3. Imo the hint of pink provides just the right touch.

Mustard is one of my favourite colours (on other people) and that's a great blouse! And so versatile: it works with all of those bottoms. I really love the proportions of 5: when I compare it to 1, I think the taper in the brown capris makes them extra flattering. Just something to think about on your next mending/altering kick.

Thank you, Eva, for taking the time to comment & giving your expanded thoughts; I always look forward to reading your insights. That's an interesting thought regarding taper; I agree that below-the-knee shorts/capris need to be tapered for best effect.

Of course, in hot weather tapering/close fits is not so helpful! I had to type my whole comment twice too: I can't wait to have my internet hooked up. I'm not really a phone person.

Alasse, I associate steampunk w fitted waist silhouettes, bold brass or pewter jewelry, layers, shades of brown, vests/waistcoats, and boots. Such a fun look & one I'd like to incorporate more into my style too!

I think it's sort of an edgy Victorian vibe... The nipped in waist and tweeds and browns. E described it very well. Brass accessories would go well too, like compasses or other old fashioned techie stuff.

Thank you, Eva & Una, for explaining steampunk. I have some steampunk-y brass jewelry, but unfortunately that dark a metal is too "heavy" on me visually. Not to mention the size of the pieces. Dainty and gold look much better on me, scale-wise.

The new mustard top is lovely as are all your outfits. I'm going to vote #3 as my favourite too and coming up a close second is #1 as I love the light colour palette. You look great in light tones and could try adding a few more to your winter looks as well to mix things up a little.

Thank you for your input, Diane! I have a warm tan skirt that I use as a winter light; it will come out shortly. I once tried a sweater + white (twill) skirt combo, but it just looked seasonally confused to me. I do have a cream sweater for winter, though.
