n my enthusiasm for my sudden burst of willingness to experiment, I decided to try wearing color this week. It was a fun exercise in which I learned a few things:

  • The colors I felt best in were 'neutral-esque' - they were subtle and soft, rather than bold or bright. My favorite was the dark burgundy. This may be seasonal, as I do love bright colors combined with white in the summer. Somehow the brightest color I wore this week (the raspberry scarf) seemed too much so against the gray sky.
  • After a few color days, I did revert back to black and gray - I just didn't feel like putting the thought in and it was cold and I just wanted a fleece on (the black and white marled jacket). I think this is me finally getting the FFBO concept - that you don't have the wear it EVERY day, you wear it, *ahem*, when you need a fall back. Duh. I'm getting it, really I am. Slowly but surely.
  • I did love the effect of color on my skin, hair and eyes. As such I think it can be a great pick-me-up if I'm feeling blah.
  • An outfit can be simple AND incorporate a color. Again. Duh.
I managed to lose one outfit photo in the abyss of my Google account ... it was a charcoal blue and black plaid shirt, with skinnies and ankle booties. I've added the shirt to my finds. Comments and feedback welcome! Thx
