Well, it was a good thing i didn't return the party dress I purchased for our Hospital Dinner & Dance that got cancelled. Today about 1/2 hour before the end of my working day my boss asked if I could go with her this evening to a Government fundraising event at the oldest country club in my home town. It's quite a fancy event and all sorts of politicians, hospital board members, city officials, etc. attend. Normally I would have said "absolutely not - I have nothing to wear" but I actually DID have something to wear so happily accepted the invitation. Since I had all the elements (thanks to Angie's coaching) it was easy and stress free to put it together and off we went. It was a beautiful evening - this country club is of a different era - huge, high ceilings with massive chandeliers, beautiful dark wood panelled walls, marble floors, absolutely swimming in gorgeous over-sized Christmas decorations, huge double-sided fireplace in the middle of the main ballroom, waiters mingling in tuxedos and white gloves with trays of delicious morsels, a champagne fountain at the entryway with cranberries floating in it...it was magical. And I felt completely, appropriately dressed. I received many compliments on my ensemble and the Mayor's wife actually asked me where I got my dress!

I asked my hubby to take a quick photo before flying out the door. It's not the best picture (could have been zoomed in a bit to show the details) but you have to take what you can get!

Heading off to bed now to dream delicious dreams...
