Outfit 1:
I came across an outfit pairing in the Boden catalog (pic #2) that intrigued me. It was boldly matched and I already had the pieces that I needed to recreate the look. Then, yesterday, the post at Already Pretty had a similar color pairing (pic #3). And someone asked about more ideas for wearing tights, beyond the normal black. So, with that, I finally pulled out the outfit and wore it today. What do you think? My only qualm is that the tights might be a little too pumpkin rather than mustard. But orange and blue go together, right?!?

Outfit 2:
Trying out my pumpkin cardigan with more tops in my closet. All my tops seem to be an awkward length with the cardi, but I think this goes okay. Which works bet? Tucked, untucked? Buttoned, unbuttoned, semi-buttoned? I eventually settled for tucked and semi-buttoned, but forgot to take a picture!

Bonus, as a pattern mixing newbie, I felt pretty bold wearing my grey floral top with my plaid pants yesterday. Subtle, but lots of fun for me.

I love both outfits.The tights look mustard to me, I don't see pumpkin, although I do think blue and orange go together. I think I like #5 (tucked) the best for this cardi/shirt combo. I have a pumpkin cardi from last fall. I wore it with grey, teal and dark purple (separately, lol) last year, this fall I am also wearing it with patterned blue ( a new colour in my warddrobe) shirts ie/ navy and white stripes, this geometric blue shell:

The tights are fabulous! I love what you have done here. I need to take lessons from you. I am SO SICK of black tights with everything. Even though it creates a long leg line, it definitely gets boring.

You look gorgeous in that pumpkin! Jealous - orange is a colour I cannot wear. I like it tucked here best, I think, although untucked also seems to work.

Do we need a "wear our bright colored tights" challenge? I have a bright lilac pair that I never seem to get the guts to wear.

I love the second outfit tucked! And the first one is beautiful - what a great dress on you. Boden always inspires me though their clothes never fit me or else are out of stock, it seems.

@ Una, their stuff never fits me right either. My dress is actually an Ann Taylor one. It just looks so similar, I was inspired!

I like both outfits (big fan of bright colors here) and cannot decide whether tucked or untucked is better for #2, both versions look good to me.

I love the sheath outfit. All of the details are so perfect--the hand bag, shoes and colors! I think the cardigan ensemble is pretty fab too. I like the blouse both tucked and untucked with the cardigan unbuttoned. So fun.

who knew pumpkin is a great color for tights?

i love the fall touches in the tights and the cardi. i'm not usually a fan of so much color myself being a neutrals girl. but i really really like the #1 with the combination of purple and orange. i think it's the muted tone of both serving as a matching element and the black dress grounds it. the dress pattern adds another element of excitement and unexpectedness.
