Outfit #1

Batting for Team Wear with my new white belt. While thinking about what to wear on top, I thought that becoming an aunt to a little girl is good enough inspiration to wear pink. Lots of pink. So, pink sweater and pink shoes it was

Worn to meet my future neighbour to talk about which trees we’d both like to plant between our adjacent gardens. Another future neighbour whom I hadn’t yet met had joined us too and she came with two kids, 7yo girl and 6yo boy. After about a minute the girl paid me a compliment, then spent the rest of the gathering hugging me and just being around me like I am her own favourite aunt. I was so chuffed.

Outfit #2

Today I happily wore the old skirt dyed thanks to inspiration - and advice - from Astrid’s thread. I love this cotton-linen mix skirt and have had it for years. It swishes as I walk and I feel fabulous in it. Yet it was in a shade of orange I did not like at all. In my defence, I bought before my YLF and Colour Awareness days.

After Astrid posted about her success with the dyed shorts, I checked my local drugstore, bought red dye she recommended, exchanged a few emails with Astrid to make sure I understood the instructions properly and used it all up on the skirt. This is the result. It is in the orangey spectrum of red colour and probably the only shade of orange that can truly excite me because it is very deep and rich.

Worn with the black tee posted earlier this week with the white jeans. Tees tucked in the skirts work so much better for me.

Posting the skirt in its old colour for comparison.

Happy to hear your thoughts and observations. Thanks for stopping by.
