I decided I was going to wear the BCBG bandage mini in a casual way long before I even opened the closet up. Being that our outing was merely Chili's, and it is an uber casual town and still HOT, I went with my new basic white tee and sandals to dress it down appropriately. Added my white watch and heart locket pendant the BF gifted me several years back. (purple Fossil sutter crossbody purse not shown) Here's to putting theory into practice LOL!!

PS excuse the wet hair hanging there limply!

Mo- your outfit looks very appropriate and nice for the outing you describe. A bcbg bandage skirt is hard to down dress so to speak but you do it admirably.

I was just wondering- I've never seen you in longer skirts and I think you would look just gorgeous in them. Is this a style preference or a wardrobe hole or...?

Hee hee! You aren't the first to ask . . . kinda both really. I do have a couple maxi skirts and several knee length flare or flounce skirts. But here it is just so warm I am constantly finding the least I can to wear to stay cool. Even today our heat index was 106 heading out for lunch. Many will be surprised to see my more usual style when I move back home to Tahoe. Much more covered up

I am waaaaaaaaaaay worse in hot weather- it fries my brains. Cannot deal with HEAT!
During the peak of the MN summer I come home from work make a mad dash for my room and change into tiny shorts and tank often sans bra. That's a good excuse for me to avoid going out for bike rids in the hot, hot sun which my husband and daughter love.
Me " you want people to see me dressed like this?"
hubby" uh no, you better lay down in an airconditoned room and don't open the door to teenage boys trying to sell you stuff!"

I love your hot weather style - it lets you function!!!

You've got lovely legs and can pull off minis with style! If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Because I think I still have the legs to wear minis but am wondering if it's not appropriate anymore at my age (38). I have one plaid wool miniskirt that I've kept all these years because my hubby thinks I look hot in it, and am wondering if I can still wear it if I wear tights and boots.

Thank you Natalie! And I appreciate the kind words also from Aida, Dresslover and Rita, too! I am 41 and counting . . . sshhhh I feel that being in a casual field (I bartend and food serve) and not being a parent both are as important factors as my age or body shape concerning the shorter skirts.

Great job with the bandage mini They have an inherently sexy style that can be hard to tone down, but you balanced it nicely with the white tee and flats - and it looks perfect for a hot day.

(The heat does get tiresome, doesn't it?)

Cool and "cool"! I love the simple necklace you chose to top it off... just the right bit of shine without making your neck sweat in the heat. I know what you mean about short skirts and the heat - you would think the ventilation of any skirt would do, but nope! My shorts and dresses are definitely shorter than normal in the heat.

Natalie, break out that mini so we can see! I bet you can make it classy and sophisticated in your ladylike way. Especially a plaid one with tights and boots.

Thanks again, all, for the thumbs up. I'm not ready to ditch mini's just yet, but don't want to be 'that girl' who looks like an aging hoochie momma either lol!!
