WiW: Something old, something new

Pic 1 - something old: a BR sweater shell that I've had for eons... over 10 years, possibly 15 years. I discarded the matching cardigan years ago because it didn't fit well. I kept the shell because it is skirt length. It went into storage for awhile because I was worried it was soul-sucking beige. I've resurrected it recently because cognac is "in" and this works well with it, plus it is skirt length for this VC mid skirt.

Pic 2 - something new: batwing purple sweater -- I took a chance recently and ordered a bunch of tops from The Limited's new petite line. All of the ones I ordered fit to perfection and are keepers. The quality could be better but great fit rules everything else for me, and price was in keeping with quality. What I like most about the fit -- not just width but the length. May not work for taller petites but for my height (5'0), it's absolutely perfect!!!

LOL I was going to type almost word for word what Suz wrote. The angle of the pic isn't great and the outfit still looks fab. I bet it looks even better in person.

LOL dianthus, I'm totally at the mercy of DH these days, he's 10 inches taller than me and only has patience for about 30 seconds to snap a shot before we head out, with no retakes. My best WiW pics were always courtesy of DD's, who are off at college these days.

Purple batwing for the win, though I was wondering how much taller the photographer was! As Shevia said, I probably like #1 too but it is quite yellow, so can't tell if the colour suits or not. Outfit silhouette looks good, though.

I also like 1 and the proportions as I imagine they look. The top looks like a good match for your hair.

Echoing the love for #2, I really like browns and dark purples together, and everything works together so well and flatters you. Although it's hard to tell in the light, it looks like the top in #1 is good with your hair color as well.

I love outfit #2. The purple sweater is a pretty color and fits great. I need to check out the petite line at The Limted. (5'1" here). The shoes are so cool. Are they comfortable?

Oh my, I meant DOLMAN sleeves but I was having a senior moment and also have bats on the brain lately. Glad you all knew what I meant!

Reneeb: I haven't even been in The Limited in years, and the last time I bought anything there, it was for my daughters, not me. But I am always looking out for new petite options, so I figured it was worth a try. I'd say the quality is just "okay" -- but since the fit was perfection, I am more than satisfied with okay! I also think the prices were totally appropriate for the quality.

As for the Jcrew monk straps, they are very comfortable! However I did get a blister the other day, but I was wearing them sans socks, because I don't have any peds right now. I got the blister on just one foot, outer toe, and this was after trouncing for hours in them... a long long walk. I suspect that they just need a bit of breaking in, or stretching just for that one foot, or peds or knee highs or socks would completely eliminate the blister problem. No rubbing anywhere else. The leather quality is to die for. Overall, they are a very good fit for my foot, I think. Also I suspect they could even handle an insert - I tried with mine (the one I use in my athletic sneakers) but it's just a tad too thick.
