Happy Saturday!

These items are not new but until now have been a bit unloved.
The pink draped top I bought out of season last summer (I showed it to you and said yes buy it) and the draped grey vest was purchased at the start of winter and was an emotional/impulse purchase.

The vest was only available in the dark grey, was so soft and warm and the style was SO me that I bought without thinking lol. But I ignored that face that I don't find this dark grey flattering on me and wearing it white or black (around the face) doesn't seem to help. The pink however seems to make the difference (I hope) and I really enjoyed this combination.

As you can see the vest can be worn as is, or wrapped around over the shoulder.

I am wearing it over Target Ponte leggings and these are Target OTK boots.

Along with Deep Red and Cobalt Blue, Soft Pink is a colour I am really enjoying having a little off in my wardrobe.

What say you? Pink ok?

Yes! Pink is definitely OK. It looks fab with the black and grey. It's a lovely vest/wrap. Does it have a little bit of mohair in it?

I didn't realise that Target did OTK boots. They're perfect with this.

I like the combo a lot. The pink top definitely suits you and the soft draping is lovely. The grey vest is a great shape too. I think if you are going to drape the vest as in #2, is there a way that you could just pull the drape down a little around your neck at the front so that we get a bigger 'u' shape sweep? The grey would then be a little further away from your face and you may prefer it that way. Awesome boots btw.

I agree with Diane G. The pink looks great but the grey is better away from your face. I am amazed that so many people on the forum understand what colours suit them so well.

The pink does WONDERS here....that pink with that grey is my favourite fool-proof winter combination!

Love that vest....how cool that it can be wrapped like a shawl! Looks really soft and warm...perfect for going to the movies or traveling in actually.

Very nice Deborah. I was looking for a cozy wrap type of sweater last winter so understand completely why you grabbed it without thinking it over. It works really well with the pink and looks chic and comfy/cozy.

Arty and uber modern! Love the textured grey. The softness of the knit and the softness of the pink make the outfit seem relaxed and feminine, without sacrificing the modern. Love it!

I know what you mean about the flattery of grey. I do better in darker, tweedier greys, but cannot do light grey at all.

I think you worked it out well. Some grays, especially with a lot of texture, are much "softer" IRL and don't work with graphic clear bold colors. So, the pink takes it into the soft zone nicely.
I am also amazed at how clearly B& W, red, cobalt are "your" colors while I , though brunette, will do so much better in that gray instead of black or optic white. Keep up the good choices!

I have a weird dislike of soft pink and dark grey, stemming from a specific pair of pants from high school in the 80s... But I digress! I love the shape of the wrap best in 2, flung around your shoulder. But I see what you mean about the color issue because that pink really suits you!

You found a good solution. I wouldn't have guessed that this grey would be bad for you, nor that the pink would be the fix, but I really like it!

How does your ordered and tidy mindset deal with the occasional touches of pink, cobalt and red in your wardrobe?
Do you hang these items by themselves or with a third piece on top?

Lyn you are very funny:) But you know it's a really valid question.

My wardrobe is organised by garment type and then colour. This pink top hangs between my grey top and black tops. My red and blue tops hang at the opposite end to my black and grey tops and are not totally visible but that's ok because wearing colour is very much mood motivated.

What a wonderful cozy vest! I've always liked pink and gray together, but never liked to wear it myself. You've shown us how to take a lovely soft color and put it into an edgy yet warm combination. I'm going to keep this in mind for next winter.

I adore pink with gray for myself (actually planning to change into it for church as soon as I post) and it certainly looks wonderful on you. I love unfrumped's analysis. The combo is soft but high contrast and cool, and totally works on you.

Oh, what a great piece, thankx for the back and side view esp! I don't know why you don't love greys, but it is looking great here on you! Maybe yes, pink makes a difference, but I generally like to combine black and charchoal grey in winter, for easing up the harshness of (too much) black sometimes. Love the drape in nr 2! Smashing!

Lyn67 I always thought charcoal grey would be a no brainer for me, but for some reason (which I am sure Angie would be able to answer) the charcoal is harsher against my skin than black (in my opinion anyway) x

I think it's because you have a very clear, refined complexion and grey works best on less defined complexions. There Is a certain shade of non- muddy slate blue grey that I think would be fab on you but is hard to find, I'm noticing that I can't wear grey as well now too.
