Thanks, all.
For those of you who live in warmer climes...the only way to survive the winters here is to get outside and enjoy them! Movement helps. We were layered up really well, with thermal underwear, fleece skating pants, puffer coats (mine is an old MEC youth's jacket -- Michelin man puffy but super useful), wool hats and scarves, and mittens.
Marcy, the Citizens of Humanity jeans are these Racer skinnies. I got them on sale so paid less. I absolutely LOVE them. I sized up one size because my thighs are generous. They fit well there, and are not calf sucking on me, although fitted in the calf. (I think on you they would be a nice, slim but skimming cut.) The rise is very low for me but I find to my surprise I really like it. (I have a long rise and thought I needed higher rise pants, but these work really well, it turns out, although they are obviously not as leg-lengthening a look.) They are super comfortable and substantial weight -- not too stretchy.
The Chambray shirt is from Halogen and is a wardrobe workhorse. It replaces my old BR denim shirt than never felt right.
Thanks for all the sweet words, everyone. And thanks, Thistle!!
