WIW: Restrained Va-Va-Voom - YouLookFab Forum

I feel really good in this outfit – it has all the things I love: structure as per my fitted black midi pencil skirt; pop of colour as per the sweater; hint of vintage as per the rosettes on the sweater and 1960’s style of it; some ruggedness to tone down any excess of sweetness as per the Docs and the gun metal twist cuff. These things combined make my favourite kind of outfits and I think are the proper formula for me:
- Structure
- Colour
- Vintage
- Ruggedness

I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts as to whether or not I’m on the right track here? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Skirt: Taifun Collection (thrifted)
Sweater: Jones New York (bought last spring – still love)
Micro fishnets: Hue
Boots: Docs Marcie’s
Cuff: thrifted

Another great outfit! I love the color of your sweater and the flowers on it. And what could be wrong with a cardigan and a pencil skirt. I really like that the sweater has short sleeves! I like how you've edged it up with the boots and fishnets. I need to get some black fishnets. I just got some nude ones and love them.

I like your formula! It's especially useful because these aren't specific items, but style elements, so you can use this all year long. Then if you get dressed and feel something is off, you can the outfit against your Shannon Rubric!

Shannon this is fabulous and I love how you have dissected the fundamentals of your look. My only suggestion would be thicker, darker hose but then that is just a personal preference. Great outfit.
