Notes

Traveling light means you can't get too carried away with accessorizing etc. I am finding that sticking to neutrals, black booties, and neutral bag works the best, even if it might be ho hum & boring. I bring in the fun with patterns on my top!

You are one hip traveller!!! Love love love that cognac clutch! And you are right, neutrals are best for travel - especially when you can punch them up like you've done with your patterned tops & scarf. Love every single outfit. And your hair looks especially amazing in #3!!! I have such a hard time getting good hair days on the road....

Nice travel looks indeed! And along with Jackie, I love the Clare Vivier clutch. I have been eyeing them for sometime now, and as soon as I see one in a store somewhere, I'm making it mine:) I wouldn't have thought of pairing cognac and berry but it works really, really well! Thanks for the idea! And, yeah, my hair usually looks like crap when I travel too, so I'm also in envy of your "road hair".

Perfect formula! I so need to take lessons for travel capsules. I was always indecisive about colors--black? brown?-- so end up with hodge-podge. Or did not have a topper that worked with everything. Wardrobe color honing is helping that and I need to keep very specific versatility requirements on my list.

The clutch was a gift from the DH - though I heavily guided & hinted. I love the leather, size, functionality. I am seriously debating a second one, in tomato red.

As for the hair, I gave up on refilling the travel size shampoo and have resigned myself to experimenting with whatever the hotel provides. Sometimes it's not so bad, and works with the hotel water (soft vs hard). Sometimes it's really awful. I just travel so much these days convenience is everything, and it's nice to have one less item to refill & pack.

Pic 2 is my "it's too early" morning face. Pic 1, fresh off late night plane shortly after hotel check in and before I went to work for hours on my presentation. Pic 4 late night after long day.

Wow, love all the textures and patterns in your travelling neutral capsule. Esp blown away by the BR (fleur de lis?)patterned blouse in nr 2, and accessorizing with the red pashmina. YLF, Shiny!:-)

These are all terrific travel outfits! The clutch is amazing, as others say, and so practical for travel, I know -- you can pop it into a tote. Love the top in the last pic, too.

Does your tube skirt not cling to tights and ride up/ around? That is my trouble with these skirts for F/W.

Suz, no, it does not cling to the tights and ride up or around. I think because it's ruched. The striped midi would certainly do so.

These are fantastic! Not ho-hum boring at all. They may all be black and white, but there is a lot of variety, and the berry scarf really adds something.

Question for you and others... I can't imagine traveling with a purse I have to hold. I want hands free... does this not bother you?

Elizabeth, I don't hold the purse when I'm traveling. I tuck it into my laptop bag, which has a sleeve that slips over the handle of my spinner carry-on. Since I can only take two carry on items, this strategy works perfectly.

Then when I'm at the office, I can take the clutch out of the laptop bag to run to the bathroom etc etc. Or take it out to dinner, tucked under my arm.

I've got this down to a science now, and lately my spinner winds up having plenty of room leftover (even though I always take one extra "back up" outfit).... just enough room I could easily tuck a second (flat) clutch into it, in a fun accent color...

I also think the silhouette of the booties is sharp and modern -- makes for a nice long column. Fab can't ever be boring!

Love your travel capsule.

I love that clutch, but was on the website and couldn't tell if it had any sort of handle. So it has one in the back I am guessing by your response? Hmm.

Abc - there's no handle on the clutch. It's the fold over clutch. You fold it over, then tuck under your arm. But for some reason I frequently just grab it by the corner like shown in this pic.

I like all your outfits, and from one traveller to another, I've got to say, I admire how chic your outfits are. Outfit #4 really stood out for me as one of those WOW, that looks really terrific outfits! The sweater scarf, skirt and tall boots look is very pretty. I know short boots are practical but tall boots always add that wow factor to any outfit. The splash of colour your scarf adds to your outfit is great as well.

I would say you have just proven that travelling can be chic and comfortable. All fab outfits. I have the VC ruched skirt and may have to try it out with tights now.
