As you might imagine, these are my Thanksgiving day outfits! My sister hosts the dinner, but as I'm the only vegetarian in the family, as well as the only one with lactose sensitivities, I essentially cook my own meal and bring it over. So for the cooking in the morning & early afternoon, I put on a comfy casual outfit that was based on these russet/rust/nutmeg/burnt orange/whatever this colour is called tights. These are the brightest of my coloured tights and thus the least worn; usually if I wear them they only peek out between my knee length skirt and tall boots. But I enjoy holiday dressing, so I couldn't resist the pumpkin pie reference (the best part of Thanksgiving imo)! I love this colour best with greys, but I needed to make sure I wouldn't overheat in the kitchen, so I chose my wool shorts and a cotton striped tee (easy to throw in the wash if I stain something, although my apron usually prevents that). I don't have a Thanksgiving themed brooch, so I opted for my cat, as cats didn't exist in North America before the Europeans brought them here. And since my kitchen has hardwood floors, it was slippers all the way.

For the actual dinner, I changed into something dressier: a tropical wool dark navy dress that I think of as my Pilgrim dress. It's another placeholder dress; the navy is a bit darker than ideal for me, and the hem a bit shorter, but I love its relaxed but flattering shape: it has princess seams instead of a defined waistband and has a few inches of ease compared to my body, so perfect for letting me stuff myself. I paired it with my cranberry tights, to lighten up the blue, navy blue socks, and my new grey boots that I love and can't wait enough. It still felt a bit more severe than what I was going for though, so I pulled out my other silk sash, a pink one, and tied it in a giant bow. Because nothing says playful and festive like presenting oneself as a gift box, right? I know the giant bow look is not for everyone (my mother usually loves my style but can't get behind the bows, lol), so it won't hurt my feelings if you think the outfit would be better without it!

No outwear pics, as between cooking and Thanksgiving itself, I didn't get to go on a walk. As always, comments and suggestions are welcome! (Sorry the pics are out of order; the uploader didn't like the profile pics for some reason so I had to rename them and tack them on at the end.)
