WIW - Pattern mixing and scarves ... a new kind of look for me!

Dear YLF,

I just finished my psychiatry rotation and currently am working in an oncology department - such different work, but so interesting! The patients and staff are amazing, and my attending is such a snappy dresser - she even had a leather blazer today which I was insanely jealous of It sure is a change from scrubs, scrubs and scrubs!

Here's my WIW today; I am wearing snow boots outdoors and swapping shoes when I get into the hospital; we have enough snow to do this, although it is quite warm today!

This skirt I picked up originally at almost $50; but I returned it, thinking it was too much, and picked it up again on sale for $15 - was it worth a second chance? And this scarf I found at a booth of knock-off purses, tucked in among the "Cucci" and the "Guass" bags... lol!

Any feed back would be much loved; as per always.

Lyn - this look is fabulous. I love the pattern mixing and that skirt was definitely worth a second chance! And I really, really LOVE the brown belt with it - it would have been so easy to go with black (more predictable) but the brown is a bit unexpected and of course works with the scarf - LOVE!

About the StyleBook pics - this blazer pic was actually one I took myself of the blazer; this is one of the problems with the iPad camera - the colours can be off sometimes! It's more of a blue/purple; but sometimes it looks like a dark blue I use a combination of saved images and ones I've taken myself for the "photo collage"

I am also soaking up your example re the leggings and shoes. I had always wondered how anyone in Canada could seriously consider this look; after all, when it's cold enough to wear leggings it is TOO cold to have bare feet at all outdoors, any part of them. Now I get it; you put your winter boots on outside and then change. DUH.

But do you wear nude hose or sockettes under the leggings, or just bare feet with the pumps?

Dissenter here. I love the shapes but I'm not loving the belt and scarf warm tones with the rest of the cool tones. They work well together, but maybe I'm too matchy matchy to find the cohesion in this and it's just something too cool for me. I do think the skirt was worth the rebuy.

I'm excited for your new rotation, Oncology must be a broad mix of patient types and a different style from psych.

I have to be a bit of a spammer on this. While I definitely think the skirt is an absolute score, I think the scarf is a bit too casual for the rest of the outfit. Something about the pattern and the fringe doesn't work with the rest of the outfit for me.
