WIW New Year's Eve 2011 - Fantasy and Reality

Had a little fun tonight.
Outfit 1 is what I wore to do some shopping and lunch with SIL. (gratuitous kid shot) I learned from my favorites I do love my neutral layers and this has more than enough for everyone. DH told me to stop already so I didn't even wear a coat (luckily did not need to)
Outfit 2 is what I would wear (maybe better shoes and hose and eye makeup and shapewear, but you get the idea) if I had a more glamorous life - I recently found this dress for $30 and couldn't resist to have it around just in case... I'm such a magpie! I copied Anna on my props
Outfit 3 is reality. CHeers everyone and Happy 2012!

I loved your day outfit. Really top notch! It looks flattering and like it fits perfectly. The colors and layers are beautiful and the boots are such a great look. Kids are pretty good accessories, too! Outfit number 2 is so glam. I had to stop buying these as I have no occasion to wear them (so sad). And we are outfit #3 twins (triplets including Shannon, lol)! Happy New Year!

This is hilarious!! What a great idea for a post! And your sparkly dress is divine. I think you need to create an occasion to wear that baby. It is a beauty!!

In my fantasy world I would be wearing something similar. My reality is long underwear. We had a family meal, then I took my daughter skating and we came home and played games until midnight while hubby slept! Not very romantic, but it was actually a lot of fun, and I was dressed impeccably for the occasion. As you seem to have been as well! Very cozy!!

I love your neutral layers and I'm smiling at your fantasy v reality pix. This post makes me feel more normal about our uneventful NYE. We had family arrive and went to bed early, so it was PJs all round in our house.
As for today, New Years Day, it's been 41 degrees celsius - damn hard to look stylish in this heat and it will be another scorcher tomorrow.

I managed to stay awake until 11:15 (I was just too cozy in my pjs - Garnet Hill pants in leopard or cheetah print) DH woke me at midnight briefly for a New Year's kiss and then back to snoozing. Good thing as those accessories got me up at 7 (late for them) Glad to know my reality outfit was a mini trend here.

Great post! I wish I had a more glamorous life too (and now I have that Fergie Glamorous song stuck in my head). My reality was pajama pants and a thermal shirt so old the cuffs are separating from the shirt. I love outfit #1 - it looks so pulled together but comfortable and practical.

You are so funny !!! The dress DID come in handy, you wore it for US !! And I , for one, really love it.

The first outfit is great, I have really started to like the short sleeve cardigans. Reality becomes you too.
