Yesterday was the first day in almost a month that I wore shoes (outdoors) other than my Sorel or Blondo boots. It's still bitterly cold but the sidewalks are (mostly) clear enough to risk other shoes now, such as my cherry red Docs. I wore scrunched down woolen knee socks to add some additonal warmth. Looking at the pictures, I didn't realize the color of the socks matched my jeans so closely; I think it looks a little odd, like my jeans are extra scrunchy there, so I'd probably choose a different color next time.

I'm also debuting a new handknit sweater in this outfit (hence the million photos from all angles, LOL.) It's a really interesting asymmetrical construction (the whole thing is seamless!) and is knit from two different yarns - a heavier weight merino/cashmere blend and a lightweight ink blue wool.
