WIW: Men's Sweatpants to work

Yes, sweatpants, joggers, track pants -- somehow I've fallen in serious love with them!!

I bought these sweatpants from Old Navy, men's section. They didn't come with cuffed bottoms. So, to keep things a bit sleek and on trend, I french rolled the hems into cuffs. Why French rolling pant legs went out with the 80s and 90s I'll never know. I think it's so gorgeous on the right pair of pants!

My only problem is I think they aren't as flattering from the rear view. But I'm so comfy and cozy at work today that I don't really mind.

I paired them with gorgeous, glitzy things with sheen, to keep them from entering "I just rolled out of bed and showed up" territory.

Jacket - Elle (Kohls)
Rayon scarf - Target
Silver ballet flats - thrifted
No jewelry, no makeup. (Kinda need some makeup maybe??)

I love this shape of trouser, both in general and on you specifically! So I think it definitely works. I hope you post more outfits; I'm so in love w your style descriptors, and I selfishly want to see them put into action. hehe

Quite like it with the topper; without it's a bit too casual looking for a work outfit to me, but of course that always depends on the work environment. I do think you could "finish" this outfit a bit further, if you wanted to. Really like the idea of glittery accents, and with your previously mentioned style descriptors I think you could go even heavier on the glitz. Maybe a stack of sparkly bracelets (or mix a leather cuff in with them), or a scarf that's got some shimmer, a metal boyfriend watch, some sparkly crystal studs. And perhaps a swipe of colorful gloss

I like it too, and the only thing I'd do differently to polish it up for a work environment would be to swap out the ballet flats for something with more presence: a bootie, a pump, or wedge sneaker. And I agree with Aida - add on the accessories and makeup, and you will rock this!

Great job of styling the pants for work. I, too, especially like the version with the jacket. I like your idea of adding makeup, too, for even more polish. I can't get over the fact that these are not just sweatpants, but men's sweatpants. I don't even know how you thought to try them! But they work, and I like your rolled hem.

Like the rolled hem a lot and the whole outfit looks good to me. I think the silver flats add a lot to the non-rolled out of bed vibe.

Here I am, most wonderful ladies! I had a crazy weekend and am just getting caught up. It's a snowy, cold evening and I have loved reading every insightful bit of feedback, as well as all of the lovely encouraging words!! Honestly and truly, I can say the only reason the sweatpants worked is I'm learning to trust myself more and have fun with clothes and just go with my heart and instincts -- all thanks to YLF and you lovely, lovely women.

E, it is becoming one of my favorite trouser shapes. I have to say, I was a bit apprehensive about wearing them. Even though I "felt" it, I still was worried, even after Angie has reassured me that track pants are wonderful for hourglass/pear shapes. I sincerely hope I can match up to my style descriptors and not disappoint you!!! I realized just this past week that my closet doesn't necessarily live up to my descriptors. So I've been doing yet some more sifting and sorting. I need more flowy things with structure, more glitz, more glam. (I think I will have to do some sewing...)

Aida, I work at library, located in a mountain village. So everything is very casual. I was wondering about "finishing" the look with more sparkle and makeup. Thank you for pointing that out! I def like the ritz and the glitz. Something for me to work on incorporating more of.

lisap, I have booties! next time I'll experiment with those! What a great idea! Yes, more accessories. After reviewing the photos again I think the top and such need more to make it stand out as a whole look.

Suz, that color is one of my absolute favorites. For some reason I don't care to wear much red. But something intensely rose/fuschia pink and I'm there!

Firecracker, I like it best with the jacket too. Gives more structure and polish. I wish I'd had time for more makeup. Next time... Yes, they are mens' sweat pants! I don't know where it came from. It was one of those days that I just had to have comfy, but had to figure out to take things up a notch, and also add structure so they weren't just "sweatpants." I just can't do anything too plain or simple: it bothers the heck out of me.

crutcher, thank you! I am glowing. I would like to next time pair with booties. But the morning was going fast and I was too tired to will my feet into booties. But next time...yes! BOOTIES! I am so, so thrilled you're trying some track pants, and sequined no less!!! I'm most delighted for you! It is a season to give to others, but isn't it nice to be stylishly dressed when you giving out gifts I looked at the pants and they are simply marvelous <3 <3 <3
