Hi gang! Hope you all had a great weekend. I never got a chance to photograph my outfit yesterday, which is a shame because I got compliments on it (proof that wearing teal or turquoise is always a winner for me). But today I pulled out a couple of new pieces and a couple of old to mix things up.
I bought the tights a month or so ago in a fit of adventurousness, but hadn't found the right outfit for them yet. You can't totally tell from the picture, but the front is red and the back is black, and the color transition has a lace pattern detail. They could also be worn the other way around, but I liked being able to see the red.
You can't see much of the dress, but it's a basic ponte LBD with a slightly sweetheart scoop neckline and a scoop in the back as well, with cap sleeves. It layers well but also looks nice by itself, although I think I may need a little tailoring in the top. As usual, when something fits me in the hips, often the top is a little roomy.
I never would have put this outfit together until recently, as I've been reading YLF and some of the other fashion blogs. I pretty much only thought of a denim jacket as outerwear, but I like the way it dresses down the outfit.
