WIW: Khaki, White & Red Formula + Fur Baby

Angie has once again made me think of a combination that is quite new to me with her recent formula suggestion. I have these old chinos in olive green or khaki from way back, and I have my white shirt and the red shoes from Astrid. I also have my wine red bag and the black leather bomber. For outdoors, I unfortunately have to wear my boots a couple of weeks longer because of low temperatures and ice, but then! Red shoes all the way.

My fur baby is 12 years old and a treasure. We all love him so much!

What do you think? Do the different reds clash? Should I leave out the bomber and wear a lighter jacket? Suggestions and comments are always welcome. Thanks for looking!

Ingunn, this looks great. I really like the look of the bomber jacket...is it leather? Looking at the pics I find myself wanting a little colour at the neckline and I would be inclined to add a red and white scarf...but that's me.

Thanks, Ceit! His "real" name is Nusse, but he has several others, too, and we mostly call him Surjn It's a little hard to explain.

Deborah, I was thinking the same thing. Yes, it is leather. I do have a polka dot scarf in cream and red that could be a nice addition, and I will probably be needing a scarf for some more weeks anyway. Good idea!

Wow, I love this!! The pants are slouchy skinnies! You'd been hiding them from us. It looks terrific with the white shirt and red shoes, but I am sure they look good with booties, too. (I feel your pain. We have the same need for boots here.) I think the red of the two items is fine, but you could always switch out the bag if you add a red scarf, as Deb suggested.

Your fur baby is very regal looking.

At the moment, I am furious at my fur baby. He kept me up all night with his shenanigans, which included knocking over and breaking a pottery jar that was made for me years ago by an old friend of our family (old in both senses of that word). It cannot be mended. I guess he has spring fever...

I like this version of Angie's formula. I think the different reds look fine but maybe I'm just looking for justification since I also wore different reds together recently.

You look wonderful in this combination, the pants look very current. I like it both with and without the bomber, and if you are worries about red, I would substitute the bag with a tan one.

Oh, no, Suz, what a shame with your pottery jar! I know how sorry one can be when such things happen. I'm not overly sentimental in regard of my possessions, but some are a lot more precious than others. We love out fur babies, but they can be a pain, too. Thank you for your positive comments of my outfit. Slouchy skinnies, that's it!

Thank you, all, for the kind words both about the outfit and my cat. Karie, 17 is really old - I hope mine will get as old, too, but he has a cough that bothers him, so I'm not too sure. We've been to the vet, but she didn't find out why.

Angie, I agree about the pant length! I rolled the legs first, but then I changed my mind.Thought I would show both versions. Thank you for your positive assessment

Ingunn, you look fantastic. I love the red lipstick too. The shoes are just wonderful with the buckle.

I like the outfit with the leather jacket. I also really love toning. So not matching the reds exactly, but tonally. So I love the bag with the shoes and the red lipstick ( can you tell I love the make up ? ).

I like the pants both ways, and the mixed reds look good too. And I love a cat who likes getting his picture taken. My cat is named Garlic, but she goes by Ajo.

This look is great on you. So fresh! Those red shoes are gorgeous. I can't believe you've had the pants for years, because they look very "now." The bomber is a great addition, and I like the mixed reds--harmonizing, rather than matchy. I like the white belt, too--what a great idea to pick up the color of the blouse rather than adding another color to the simple combo.

I prefer the pants longer and I love this with the bomber jacket. I really like the fit of the pants, having the skinny legs -- very modern classic. The black jacket is fine with this outfit, it makes the outfit so on-trend and sporty. The red shoes are adorable with the outfit as well, but I'm not as crazy about the bag -- maybe a black bag to coordinate with the bomber, or a white bag to go with the shirt and belt? (I do feel the reds fight each other, plus the style of the bag is more feminine than the overall tomboy-ish vibe with the khakis, button down and bomber.)
