Hi,

Here are some recent outfits. Still no jeans while my foot heals. Maybe next week I will finally squeeze a bootcut pair over my foot.

#1-NYC Sweater
Or maybe it's a poncho? I picked up the sweater during the YLF NYC fashion week gathering. It's nice to have something with a little color in my closet since I wear a lot of blues, or lately, greys and blacks.

#2-Grey and Black
These grey trousers were in the donate pile until my foot surgery. They have been essential these past few weeks with the wider legs.

#3-Tan and Grey
I really own a lot of grey. It must be the second biggest color in my closet after blue since I own lots of jeans.

#4-No Grey
These black trousers (also in #1) were another donate bag item. They are too short but go over my foot so for now, I'll keep wearing them.

#5-Weekend
This outfit felt a little plain. But wth hubby's help I was able to slip on these cargo pants. The lightweight material is helpful. Although I am starting to freeze as our weather continues to cool down. (60sF lately)

Sidenote: One thing recovering from surgery has taught me, is to have more variety in my closet. I own over a dozen pairs of jeans and only two are hemmed for flats or sneakers. And half of them are straight legs or skinnies. None of which I can wear right now. If I didn't have skirts, dresses and wider leg trousers, I'd be sunk! Once I am healed up, I plan to add more variety into my closet with both bottoms and colors. The other observation I had was how much blue I typically wear and now I barely wear any. All my skirts/dresses/trousers are black or grey!

Love the poncho sweater in --its voluminous but drapey and the color is delish on you. I also really love the blazer in 4. These colors really pop against the blues and neutrals. Your style certainly hasn't suffered during your recovery! Great weekend outfit--I'd totally wear that : )

Fascinating (though unwanted!) experiment in stretching your closet! I hope you heal soon.

Love the blazer in #4 and I'm also found of the play of neutrals in #2. Lovely waist definition going on there!

Well at least it's an interesting exercise in how to stretch your wardrobe. I really like that rose poncho thingy on you. I'm still not totally sold on this silhouette for me but I'm enjoying it on others and it is definitely growing on me. How about some colored jeans? Black, gray, brown, red, wine, even cobalt would be fun!

Way to handle a setback with style, Lisa! You look so GREAT in raspberry and lavender. I really love those colors on you. That new cowl is terrific, and I love #4 with the stripes and the jacket.

You look so polished and put together for someone recovering from surgery. All the outfits are great but I'm really liking 1, that sweater is gorgeous on you and 2 is so flattering, look at your tiny little waist!

What type foot surgery did you have? I hope you are healing fast and not having too much discomfort.

I like these outfits. You look great! My fave is #2 - great print top! I'm not so sure about #3 - it looks too plain to me, but then I go for more accessories as a rule. I do LOVE those cargos in #5 - very flattering fit!

You may have to give up jeans altogether since your outfits are great without them, but I do hope your foot is recovered soon!

I love the sweater in #1 - the combination of the volume in the body coupled with the tighter fit on the lower sleeves gives it some edge. And the colour of the jacket in #4 is beautiful on you!

Like all of these, especially #1 and #2. That is a great color on you, and I like the contrast of the voluminous sweater and slim, elongated sleeves.

Lisa - you are doing a fantastic job dressing around your injury! I don't think I would be able to put together so many different outfits without my jeans, particularly skinny jeans!
I love the dress in #3 and that purple is a wonderful color for you!
I hope your leg is doing better. When is the cast coming off?

Heather-Thanks! I must admit, not being able to wear my beloved jeans is really making me think outside the box with my outfits. Which isn't a bad thing. Too often I would purchase something non-jeans (dress, skirt, etc) because I'd WANT to mix up my jeans looks but then I would never really wear them. Now I am forced to mix outfits that are non jeans.

Bella-Thanks! The best part about the dress in #3, is it is machine washable. A feature I do not see often with dresses. I don't have a cast, just the velcro black boot. My issue has been a swollen foot. Heavy materials rub too much on the raw foot and/or my foot is literally too big and puffy to squeeze into the narrow opening bottoms such as skinny jeans. I'm not sure how soon the swelling goes down. It's a year long healing process, although the more intensive healing is in the first 3 months.
