These are outfits I wore the last week. We were off on Monday, so the first is really from the week before. I'm trying to stay warm, also challenged myself to a "classic" look this week. Not sure how that came out, but I was warm and every outfit made me feel put together, non-fussy (didn't have to fret about wrinkles, shifting garments, etc.), and professional-leader-looking for my office (3 person office where I am second-in-charge, coming into a busier-meet-the-public season.)

I have recently purged my slacks, keeping only a couple of best pairs of each of black, black/white dobby weave, brown, and gray.

#1 - matching purple turtle neck and boiled wool type sweater. I like the metal zipper. The sleeves of the sweater are a smidge too wide and short, but otherwise, I feel a soft but tailored look.

#2 - my Pendleton wool jacket which has a gathered peplum in the back, but not frilly looking. I did take in and lengthen the sleeves on this jacket. Worn with white blouse, silk scarf received as gift from my daughter. I might tie this as a bow next time. Black Naturalizer shooties.

#3 - Thin black wool-blend turtleneck with ruffly sleeve cuffs, and a 3/4 sleeve zip up cardigan. I like this cardigan because it is heavy, but a smooth knit, and fairly close-fitting. Black Born oxfords (I think of these as my Euro shoes.)

#4 - Gold blouse, gray sweater with short sleeves. The scarf is the only item I have bought in 2012 so far. I saw it on clearance at Penney's when I took back a gift after Christmas. I like it because the gray and burgundy play down the mustard of the blouse, which isn't my best color. I forgot to take this photo until after I had put on my snow boots.

#5 - Brown herringbone trousers, cream shirt, and taupe-brown cashmere cardigan also a Christmas gift from my daughter (LOVE! I have another one from this brand that is a couple years old and still looks like brand new after many wearings). The scarf helped fill the scoop neck of the top and add color. Brown Born oxfords.

Always welcoming comments and suggestions for improvements! Thanks for looking!
