The Commes des Garçon show Angie shared http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....collection and especially MovingFashionFoward's comment on the thread got me thinking about visual ideas and how they get interpreted, and how valuable (and fun) riffs/improvisations and envelope pushing are.

So I decided I'd set myself a challange this week to wear clothes inspired by several looks in the show. The two rules I made for myself were a) I had to wear a version outside doing my day to day things (so it had to be weather appropriate), b) I couldn't run out and buy stuff, even at thrift stores, I had to work with my existing closet.

Although it was fun as heck to think about stuffing sweater tights with cotton batting and slinging them around my neck, looking at the runway outfits as distorted, and multiplied, and oversized toppers and accessories made sense, and some possible underlying bones of the outfits became clearer to me.

The first look I was inspired by was #7: http://www.style.com/fashionsh.....MMEGRNS/#7

The first version of my look is my initial interpretation, the second is how I actually walked around (adjustments for practicality, sitting, arms being cold)

poncho sweater BCBG/ross
wool skirt- micheal kors/thrifted
scarf - a gift from my cousin when she was first learning to knit them and didn't know when to stop
fuzzy gloves - powell's bookstore
sweater leggings - ross
boots - G for Guess/t j maxx

All thoughts and feedback welcome!
