WIW- Inspired by Style Underdog take 2

I tried again this morning (inspiration photo from Style Underdog)-
Merona engineer boots, David Kahn bootcuts, T, sweater, belt and moto from Target, homemade cowl.
The proportions are still off, but I like this ok.

so close, but I want to put you in skinnier jeans so the overall effect is less bulky. I think my next knitting project will be a cowl.

Hm, my eye is less concerned about the skinnies and is drawn to the fact that the gray sweater is pretty long. I think it throws the proportions off. Do you have a shorter one, or could you try blousing the gray one a bit so the hem hits higher?

That said, I really like the color combination!

I applaud your efforts, Khris! I must have missed the original post, but to my eye, a smaller difference between the length of the jacket and under layer is key - which is why Style Underdog's outfit is flattering. I like the width of your jeans

The width of jeans all depends on your style preferences. Your wider jeans have an Earth Girl vibe, which I really favor over skinnies. Skinny jeans aren't all that comfortable and I'm trying to resist this trend that they're the answer to everything these days. Your jeans look great with the shoes you're wearing, and the long dress with the short leather jacket work nicely together. It's just a different design aesthetic than what's promoted on popular style blogs. I've got a pretty discriminating eye and have no problems with the length of your jacket or anything else. :o)

Ooh nice outfit Khris and I'm in the same boat as Angie - maybe a longer jacket over the top might balance up the layers some. I love your hair too it's grown so much since the last time I "saw" you!

I love this. This might be that sartorial-worthy outfit. I don't think it would have that hip vibe (well, not sure if hip is the right word, but I can't find a better one right now, it's late lol) if you substituted the bootcuts with skinnies. I really love the jacket with the sweater/dress, and don't see problem with the lengths - as long as you keep it open:)
The only thing I would modify is the t-shirt - maybe try a striped one? I think pink is too close to skintone, and at first I thought it was "cleavage", haha. (As I said, it's late...;)
