Awww, I think it's really cute! You have such a beautiful face, and this cut shows it off.

Hugs!
Actually, it's beyond cute -- it's chic! I don't think my first comment conveyed how much I really, really love this cut on you!

And I'm another one who didn't notice your outfit because I was too mesmerized by your gorgeous face! Best eyebrows ever!
Another voice shouting......."Shevia looks amazing!" at the monitor.

I understand the shock of such a major change, but this cut reveals your gorgeous cheekbones and lovely jawline and, yes, yes the grey looks more intentional. It's a happy, confident and friendly look --- a way of opening your face and self to the world to see it fully and be seen, too.

I'm sure it will take some work to learn to style it -- particularly with the uniqueness of every curly head! It seems that hair changes like this often change the way women accessorize and dress. I'd encourage you to read through some of Rae's posts -- she's being going through a similar transformation --- and she looks phenomenal!
Shevia, I love your new hair. I liked your old 'do as well, but this new one makes you look like a model! So fashionable and chic; you were meant for short hair!

Somewhere in the past couple weeks Angie posted how she does her hair. I can't remember the details, but I do remember that it only took 10 minutes.

I'd stay with short hair for awhile and enjoy it 'cuz you look great!
I agree with everyone else that your hair looks great! I know it was a big change from your previous hair, but hopefully as you (and your hubby) get used to it, you won't feel as strange. The bag is great and the hat is fun, although I don't think you need it to hide your hair.
Shevia - please don't hate this hair cut because it looks AMAZING on you! I love it! Your beautiful face shape and lovely eyes show even more now and I can see this pixie-impish style working so well with your menswear inspired outfits. Once you learn how to work that short hair, you are gonna LOVE IT!

I suspect your angst over it and hubby's reaction is just due to the shock of such a drastic change. Give it time and play with it.

I also adore the bag - what a fantastic find! Carry on with your gorgeous self...
I did something like that to my dad when I was wee, except I think he was growing a beard. Wailed something awful...

But this haircut is great on you! I can't even remember now what you looked like before. This really resets the stage. I say it's all in the length of the neck, got to have the right length, lol.
Yes, we like it, we really like it!

Truly, it looks fantastic on you! Very, very flattering. I think it is chic and sassy and seems to fit you so well.
I think your daughter cried because kids have definite ideas on what their parents should look like and that means it should not change
Seriously, when I popped open the picture, all I could think was "You don't love it? It looks FANTASTIC on you!" I think the shock at the shift is just making it hard for your family to view it objectively. If I saw you on the street, I would definitely look carefully to store the details of how your gorgeous look worked in my "book of lovely." (And I'm with Ceit. That's exactly what I thought when I read your daughter was upset--it is the change that is startling to her.) Give yourself some time to enjoy your new glorious gorgeousness. You look fab!
Shevia, I first read your comments and I braced myself for the worst. Then I looked at the photos and almost passed out. You are stunning!!! So chic and elegant and I love seeing more of your beautiful face.
I love your salt and pepper! I like the haircut on you but totally understand your hubby's reaction. My husband would have reacted that way or worse! LOL That's his big fear with me and my gray roots... that I'll go get a pixie to chop all the colored parts off. Regardless of our husband's opinions, I think it looks cute on you.
Well you look beautiful, vibrant and youthful with this lovely hair cut. It likely was alot of cut all at one time so will take a little longer to get used to it. I also think that the first week or so with such a radical cut is hard because the blunt ends need some time to relax.
KILLER to the power of KILLER

That's the only appropriate resposne from me

And this:

*faints*
I agree with everyone else, you look fantastic with this haircut! It really suits you and it's so chic. Give your family and yourself some time to get used to it.
I had to get back to admire your new do more, before you post the next WIW

This actually reminds me of Arundhati Roy's short haircut, a classic example how the short hair can exude femininity and strength so much more than the long hair...

You really make me want to go short too.
I just have to say one more time how amazing you all are. I was thinking how YLF is one of the few places in life one is really free to be supportive and kind to relative strangers (not that I feel like all of you are strangers but you know what I mean). In most of life I feel a bit wary of being seen as too mushy, or taken advantage of, or just met with unkindness, but here everyone treats everyone else as a sister (or occasionally brother) in the best possible way.

So, in short, Angie drink some tea and wake up, we need you!
Alicat, your first comment was more than enough, but it was very sweet of you to write the followup.
Beth Ann I totally agree about Rae, and thank you for your sweet compliment.
Isis, I am going to stare at Angie in masonry view shortly!
Sara, you are right, DH is already getting used to it. Sort of.
Shannon, of course you are going to be even more a style inspiration for me now - thank you!
Tina you are a doll to say that!
Brenda, I think DH has been worried about this ever since I stopped dying my hair, but he is adjusting.
Clara and Astrid, I am just running out of ways to thank everyone, but it does not mean your words are not very appreciated!
Glory you are exactly right. It was very bristly to begin with and I am waiting for it to calm down a bit.
Ornella, wow, Arundhati Roy is gorgeous with short hair. And if someone as truly lovely (in every way) as you is inspired by my haircut in any way, I am just floored.

Another rave from me! Now go by some fab earrings to show off at your Seder
Gorgeous!! Your beautiful face, smile and eyebrows show off so beautifully
I also think your haircut is beautifully done, proportionate to your features, and looks great on you. Perfect for spring.
I LOVE IT! Total impish, mischievous, wicked Tinkerbell who tormented Wendy, and tricked Tootles into shooting arrows at her rival, and you love every moment of her as she appears in the book - the REAL James Barrie Tinkerbell, not the cutsey Disney Tink. THAT is who you look like, and I admit I am more than a little jealous at how great you look!

You are the .067% of the population with the perfect dainty features to rock that hairstyle. Own it and enjoy your dinner! <3 <3 <3
I'm late to the party, but wanted to chime in to say that I too absolutely love your new do, Shevia! It suits your features beautifully, it's strong, playful and chic all at the same time.
I had to say what a great cut this is. I was expecting something entirely different from your verbal description and they the photos blew me away. So wonderful for your face shape and shows that sassy spunk I see in your outfits and smile! I love it with a hat too, the points pulled in front of your ears are perfect with a hat. I figured i'd comment on that too since it is important to me my cut works well with a hat on for outside
Shevia, WOWOWOOWOWOWOWOWOWOOWOW!!!!!

You look sensational! I love this on you!

Angie is so right. It's just gorgeous.

I haven't read all the comments yet. And I know I am biased, as a pixie wearer. But please, please know, I wouldn't say it if I didn't mean it.

Also, I did see one line from you about how your daughter cried and begged you to change it back. My daughter did the same when I first cut my hair short. She really doesn't care for change and it seemed unfeminine to her at first (even though she is the tomboy!) But now she would be upset if I changed it again...people get used to it.

You can definitely wear it this way if you wish to. You look so beautiful.
You look great in the hat, but the haircut is stylin' and needs no cover!
