WIW: I have been sooooo bad - YouLookFab Forum

Well it is 3pm on Saturday afternoon and I just returned from an impromptu shopping trip and I have been soooo bad - but enjoyed the results sooooo much.

Photo 1 - 3 WIW Shopping -dark skinny jeans, red silk cami (Country Road thrifted); red cardi with dome fastening, high/low front/back and chiffon insert in back (Max); silver sandals;hoop ear-rings with red beads;big as cocktail ring and red leather bag (Overland).

Eeek a lot of red better watch out or Mr Claus will be after me to feed and water the reindeer.

Photo 4 - what happens when good intentions go bad (will definitely be SYC for the next couple of months) - black pencil skirt (Principals), Cobalt/Black/Grey dress with knot below bust (Jigsaw), Cobalt triangle top with built in cami (Ignite), black/white chiffon butterfly peasant shape blouse (Principals) - Total Cost: $206 - I love sales. PS not sure why this photo is upside down????

By the way YLFers if you read my last posts you'll know that skirts and dresses are way out of my comfort zone - so if I get in trouble for overspending I'm blaming you ladies for giving me the confidence to rock a skirt and Angie because I couldn't leave the shop until I'd bought the top (or 2 ) to go with it.

Love the first outfit and can't wait to see the skirt styled! The colors are beautiful, and it's so wise to begin with the iconic black pencil skirt.

Perhaps you are just shopping in batches, rather than in dribs and drabs. I tend to buy more in late Spring than in Summer (partly because I'm on an 8 month teaching contract, and I have less money in Summer) and early fall. Making sure you have pieces that work together is also key to a versatile wardrobe, and you're doing that here!

Skirts can be so freeing, and with boots and tights they can we quite comfy for your cooler months.

Hi Beth Ann - Well that's what I'm telling myself - there are a heap of mid season sales on at the moment and I tend to purchase transitional clothes that I can wear at any time of year. I think I'll get a lot of wear out of everything I bought today.

You are finding some lovely things. Have you thought of how to them in a capsule or two as in Angie's post? It looks like all your tops and the dress may work under the red cardi and the tops with the new skirt and jeans.

Hi Joy - I haven't quite gotten that far yet but as black and grey are my neutral colours I know that my new purchases should fit in well with the rest of my wardrobe and as you suggested everything I'm wearing also mix and matches with my new purchases.

You are so bad but so good! I think you have made some wonderful purchases Kiwichic. The red rope is gorgeous. And I don't think you can have too much red as it really is a great color on you. Let me know when you start SYC, I may have to join you:)

Well Deborah SYC starts immediately for me but just like dieting I may fall off the band wagon.

Claire I definitely loved me a spending spree still haven't told DH not that he would mind I just feel a bit guilty having spent all that money on me and no one else - oh well I'm sure I'll get over it.

You look great in red. I love the grey and blue colours of your new clothes, those are my favorite colours to wear. It makes me want to go shopping!
I also really like your haircut, the picture from the back shows it's shape nicely.
