Like I was saying to Claire the other day, with Chanel doing all the India-inspired looks and harem pants back on the runways and racks, might be the easiest time to try a new silhouette, I guess? I'm certainly taking complete advantage of it with all these harem pants --- even though this silhouette is the more old-fashioned rendition (circa 70s/early 80s?) and closer to our own salwars and patialas. In fact, i just cheated on SYC and started SYB a bit early, ordering a few things online in advance (but that's another story, another thread).
I'm quite intrigued by all the affection for this outfit, and touched too It's a bit OTT with the exoticism, but I do love the pants myself. You're right, though, Suz --- the top *might* just fit again one day. I didn't get round to wearing it when it was new, and I put on weight between the original measurements and then, so it's only been worn a few times. I generally hold on hard to anything my Dad made up, but I wonder about this one all the more because I'm not sure if the sleeves are too hot on my small frame and the colour (I chose the fabric, mea culpa) is the best bet for me.
T&C, I'm generally a little less afraid of the voluminous than the average YLFer --- volume is pretty much the norm for my culture most of the time. We quite like swathing ourselves in billowy fabric from top to toe, pretty literally!
