JAileen - now you are just trying to give me nightmares!

A cropped sweater to show the skirt more and I think you'd be happy...well, with ahem, three layers of slips and double stockings, lol. That's my solution and I'm sticking with it

Celia, thanks! Mr Skunky is a darling, and for me anyway, seeing the tarantula was like finding an Easter egg. I think you're right about trial and error. I erred the other night!

Beth Ann, yes, I liked BJ's ideas, but I like yours, too. I have a sleeveless dressy black top, and a black velvet jacket. I bought the jacket with the idea of wearing it with a skirt, but I haven't actually tried it yet.

Delurked, sorry. I think the movie is kind of funny, though.

Rachy, thanks for your thoughts. I need a shorter sweater, for sure. I have to say, wearing tall boots was probably as warm as three slips and two pairs of stockings!

Nice, and that ruffle-edged cashmere also takes care of the ho-hum-just-a-sweater problem, doesn't it? If that style is short enough for you, and you like ruffles, it could be a good solution. I'm very short in the torso, so when I shop online I keep a list of lengths for tops & dresses in my head: 21" to hipbone, 24" to lower hip, 36" to cover the knee, etc. I'm always on the lookout for tops in the 19-21" zone, but most seem to be 24-25". I'm investing in shorter lengths when I find them, before the high-waist+crop-top trend fades!

Just wanted to thank you for being a CASA. That makes you already fabulous, irregardless of what you wear!

Tulle, that's a good idea! I don't know those measurement, but I ought to.

Verdant, thanks! I would encourage people to look into it at least. In our area we have about 900 kids in foster care, but only a little over 100 CASAs, so there's definitely a need.

Mr Skunky is great! I like the tall boots for warmth, too, and as Verdant said, what you're doing is Fab.

Milkshake, thanks! we actually have two dogs. The other one is a very cute little scruffy Jack Russell. When we're out and about, though, Mr Skunky gets all the attention because he's so jaunty and distinctive.

You should have felt nothing but proud and fab both for your outfit and the work you do.
