What i wore to church this morning. Though you can barely see it there's suz's two tone sweater underneath.

I barely looked at the mirror and am not too keen on the pic here. I feel shortened and blocky.
I pulled out the semituck before setting off. It's clearly not working here.
Comments and criticism welcome.

I think you look great, but as you asked, I have analysed, and I feel the proportions are such that you are kind of cut in half making you look shorter than you are. I love the black boots with this but lighter footwear would create s longer leg line. I am wondering how a longer top would work?? I actually like the look:)

I like both looks but my preference is for the first one. It has a biker/rocker chic look to it which I like. I tend to look at the overall picture and I didn`t notice that you looked shortened or blocky. I thought you looked very cool. James Dean would approve.

I think a wider white belt... Filling the belt loops and carrying the white higher... Also, stompier boots... I think the toughness of the jacket asks for a little more heaviness elsewhere. That is, more blockiness would balance things out...thus reducing the overall blocky feeling...

I think outfit #1 is great -- a bit of biker chic, as Style Fan just said. I echo what Deborah suggested -- wearing footwear in a lighter shade may visually extend your leg line (if that is your concern). Your second outfit is also fab.

What if you rolled the jeans instead of tucking them to add a little weight at bottom? And I like the idea of a white belt here.

Yes a white belt has been kind of on my list for a few years now . I don't own one currently. Or any other booties.
The jeans aren't actually tucked. They are just that length! Weird I know. Raw edge.

I like it! Agree on the idea of adding a white belt if you find one (gives a faux higher rise which will make your legs look longer) and the idea to roll the hems so they sit either just on top of the boots or a little above to show some skin if it's not too cold. Of course lighter boots would also be less blocked, but these are great with the black moto.

Both outfits are great! I like the first one, as it's got a lot of interest, with the leather jacket, the pop of red, the white scarf echoing the white jeans. I agree with others on the idea of rolling the jeans, and possibly wearing a white belt to lengthen the leg line. But I don't see anything off with the proportions.
The second outfit looks more arty elegant. You wear both looks really well!

I like the idea of a white belt to lengthen the rise a bit, but I think the lower rise look is kinda rock 'n roll --- Mick Jagger even has a long torso, low rise proportion.

The leg line would also be lengthened by lighter footwear, or by a crisp roll of the jean, along with a less chucky boot. The kicker is that the look you have here is probably more stylish than the changes suggested.

And everyone needs just a bit of rock 'n roll in church!

I actually really love the look as is, Anne (and do also like the idea of rolling the jeans and maybe doing a white belt, but the black one works too). It's modern and fun, and the addition of the scarf is perfect.
(this red, white and black colour palette is super on you, by the way!)
