WIW: Getting bossed around by the weather

Hair: wet from cool shower
Top: chosen for 50% linen fibre content - J Crew, flea market
Shorts: chosen because sundresses are now all dirty and the heat has me too lazy to do laundry - Old Navy
Sandals: max foot ventilation - Softspots
Bag: hopefully something bright and vibrant to distract from wilted and withered me! - Marc Jacobs, DIY restoration, flea market.

Dude, I'd forgotten how warm it can get here in Southern California... we've had two mild summers, and already I am completely desensitized. We went out to a couple flea markets today, and I ended up nauseous and ready to swoon like a damsel in a tight-laced corset! Plus, I miss my boots. I've been browsing boots online for days, as if my lizard brain thinks a boot purchase will bring boot weather. I have been good and not bought anything, but I will say I have my fingers crossed for a long, bitter cold spell... at least by CA standards. -_-

I hear ya Rae! We've had a pretty hot summer here and I'm ashamed to say, I'm ready for it to be over and done with!

Dude! The heat is wack. I loved your damsel analogy, and I have had a few days too where I just couldn't think straight it was so hot. I guess the siesta guys had it right, because some afternoons hubs and I just lay on the floor in front of the air conditioner and zone out. That seems to be all there is to do.

I love your hit of lime green in that outfit. It boosts it up like nobody's business! Stay cool, young damsel.

Cute outfit! I love hot weather but I don't like humidity. Luckily I live where it's hot and dry. Try to remember to drink lots of water if you're spending time outside.

Great outfit, Rae! Perfect for the heat. It's been nasty here this week too (100+), so I feel your pain. It's funny how we lose acclimation to heat or cold. When I was in Anaheim at the end of July, I actually got chilly walking around outside! I thought, "Man, sweater weather." It was sunny and probably 72 degrees, lol.

It is still in the 90s here, although it cools down quickly at night now. Still in shorts and tees, just like you.
