I collected a few of my recent WIWs for a single post. Today's outfit didn't work as well as I had hoped it would, so I thought I would post it too and see if my gut feeling that it isn't working was right.
First, the WIWs that I like.
Pic 1:Angie's recommended black BR lace front sweater and cobalt.
Pics 2&3: Old BCBG top that I love. The shape wasn't working for me anymore. I tried it tucked and hooray! it reinvigorated it for me. Leopard patent pumps.
Pics 4&5: my daffodil colored skirt (sounds so much more springy than mustard, doesn't it?) with soft blue and red purse. The color adjustment hates this skirt and will not correctly depict the color, so it throws everything else off too. The colors are slightly more muted, and work better than the brights version that the picture shows. Pic 5 shows that better.
Pic 6: Jewel tones and slouchy trousers. I loved the relaxed feel the slouchy fit of the trousers gave this outfit. These are just very old trousers with a higher waist and pleats that now fit me loosely. They make a great slouchy, but tailored, trouser.
Pics 7&8: Denim and cobalt. I tried my bib necklace on over the shirt. Not sure if it works that well, but it was a fun look to try.
Finally, Pic 9, the "doesn't really work" look. I wore this today. I've had the peplum top in storage for warm weather, but was really interested in finding a way to wear it in the spring. I was inspired by the outfit posted at Beverly like Hills (Pic 10). A silk blouse was way too unstructured underneath, so I wore a crisp cotton one. I don't think the shape of this peplum works that well, though. It is more blousey than fitted and softer rather than rigid fabrication. I think the lack of structure makes it blouse out in a way that doesn't really work for my shape. A belt didn't help. So, I'll tuck the top back for the spring and wait for sleeveless weather again. That is, unless I try it with jeans and booties and it works brilliantly....
Thanks for looking (and I'd love all comments and suggestions!).
