Thank you so much for all the feedback and advice for my interview. It happened this morning and I thought that it went extremely well. I may not know for a few weeks if they want me, so life goes on.
Anyway, here are pics I took this morning before heading off - I did do the column of black with the teal blazer, and took your collective wisdom and wore black brogues instead of sandals. Hair in a braided bun, malachite and pearl earrings, and black briefcase. I did shorten the strap considerably after seeing the pics.
I did worry that I wasn't dressed up enough (everything I'm wearing is perhaps 3 years old, and not terribly high quality), but once I got there, I felt that I hit exactly the right note. However I think I will look for a few tops with sleeves to wear with the black "suit," for future needs, as my black blazer is actually very nice quality and makes for a more traditional/formal ensemble.
