WIW-For my first Julebord in Norway ETA more clear pic

Julebord or Christmas table are big parties in Norway.
I had posted in my previous thread the blue dress I wanted to wear and it was unanimously voted out ;).
I did try other dresses but with my limited budget and major weight loss nothing seemed to work.

So here it is my seasonally confused look :D. Oh I wore the mauve shoes that got some lve in my previous dress.

I was right on trusting my instinct and not wearing jeans because it was a pretty dressy affair.
Surprisingly, my outfit got lot of love and DH said that many guys complimented him on getting a pretty wife:D. So all was not lost

I knew it! Jeans are way too casual for Norwegian Christmas parties You look great in your chosen outfit, and I think the seasonal confusion is quite all right when it comes to dressing up. After all, there are a lot of people who have to reuse their dressy outfits throughout the seasons, as we can't all have a huge selection of pretty dresses to choose from. The money are a lot better spent on our everyday clothing. I'm so happy this turned out well for you.

I think you look very festive! Adding that shawl(?) makes the blue---which I think is a great winter colour, by the way (see Lyn D.'s thread with her boucle jacket today!) --- part of a jewel box palette. Very festive. Reminds me of those Quality Street chocolate boxes from my childhood...

The colourfulness and richness of the shades are very apt for bringing a bit of India to Norway, too

I just love the plum with the aqua. Lovely combination. I think you were right to tie it all together with the mauve shoes. I really like the double strap detail. VERY nice

I missed this post, so late to the party. You wear colors so well and I think the dress is appropriate for "julebord". As Ingunn said - dressing up is the main point and most people I know reuse their dresses (which I find really good, anyway) You both look great!
