WIW: First day of class - guitar class, that is

Public school started two weeks ago. In the middle of summer. No wonder the school board tried to fire the superintendent.

Anyway, my community college class starts today. Last semester I was the only student not 20 years old. I want to look current, yet not too young. I want your honesty, please.

My outfit:
Kut Catherine BFs in white (on sale at Zappos), Eddie Bauer grey tee, JCrew ribbon belt, blue Birkies. Major accessory: guitar.

I think you totally current without the trying too hard look. The white Catherine's are a fab choice, as are the Birks. Topped with a tee, reads perfect for class to me.

Okay, I just got back from class. There's only one other student, an ex-Marine, about 25 or 30 years old. Last semester it was about a dozen 20 year olds all texting on their phones during break instead of talking to each other.

Deb, I doubt it. However, the other student, this ex-Marine is a very polite young man. The class is going to be really nice, like having private lessons.

Desmo April, here's a picture of my guitar. It's a basic Yamaha acoustic. It has a really nice tone, though. I've had it about 20 years, and am finally learning to play it.

Very current BF jeans and footwear. (I happen to be wearing my white KUT BFs right now, so high five).

The outfit looks nice with the tee - but a slouchier V-neck style will look fabulous, and even more current.

The rolled jeans with the birks are great .... Bet this would look good with your Earthies oxfords too when the weather allows... What an opportunity to have class with only one other student!

Thanks, Angie. I actually do have a slouchier V neck in grey. I kind of forgot about it. I'll try to wear it this weekend.

Thanks, Sarah. I really wanted to wear the Earthies, hence the grey tee. But then I thought it was a little too warm for them. I think it was in the upper 80s today. So Birkies it was.

Taking guitar through the community college is such a bargain, especially considering the size of the class. Although I took piano for years when I was young, I had a hard time learning guitar, until this teacher. He's also really good at playing, and even has a Grammy!
