I am trying to be festive and interpreted this as trying to improve my grooming, painting my nails and wearing a little more jewelry. It has been hot here - and humid as well, and I find sparkle easier at night than day so my festive touches are rather subtle.

1) Pic 1. For work- new black pants to replace the crossover ones that in the end had to be thrown out. I went for crops given the season, and wore them with a blouse purchased on heavy sale in the winter. Second wearing. I tried it tucked but - no! I cannot do a tucked top and a fitted pair of pants, not in high contrast. I got several complements and think it is a nice safe work look.

New pants are from Witchery, shirt MaxShop, heels - Country Road.

2) Pics 2-3 For work again, same pants, old shirt, wore heels and earrings to make it more dressy and festive. Again a good basic work look. I love a column of colour.

Pants - Witchery, Blouse and sandals both over five years old.

3) Pics 4-5. Casual weekend look on a scorching day. This illustrates my problems with shorts. They are not tight at all, in fact quite roomy in places but to me they look clingy in the photos. I spent the day pulling down the banded top so it did not gape on my back, and feeling self conscious about the shorts (thifted for $4). Wore sparkly sandals to be more festive. I feel like this look is a miss - would it be better with a higher contrast tee and sandals? Or should I just get over myself and accept that 45 year old legs that are strong and get me places are fine; cellulite and all?

Thanks for looking.
