WIW: Feeling Plaid all over :)

Well, ok I'm not wearing all plaid, but I couldn't resist jumping on Debs bandwagon of using a song for a thread title Thanks for the inspiration Deb.

Long time no wiw eh? I finally had the house to myself and time to take some pics.

The skirt is one I made two days ago and the asymmetric fastening cardigan is one I bought about 3 weeks ago. We are having reasonably mild weather at the moment so I went for tights with a bit of sheerness and booties to finish.

You look great! Love the color and asymmetrical style of the sweater, and am constantly in admiration for your seamstress skills. I also really like the play of the patterned tights with the plaid and the booties. This may be one of my favorite outfits on you.

Pikolinos are so comfortable, aren't they? I have a pair of their boots that I couldn't bear to part with, even though they're not really quite my style anymore, and they're getting a bit worn, so I took them to Texas, where I can still enjoy wearing them to knock around the ranch.

What a cool cardi! I love the interest that it adds, and the patterned tights, and the booties...to your plaid skirt. I am even more impressed now that I know you put these clothes on in the morning and keep them on all day until it's bedtime! You are one stylish lady and I wanted you to know you've inspired me to put on my real clothes (every day last week!) even if I'm not going anywhere.

Thank you so much, all you lovely ladies Glad you like my new skirt. I made another at the same time which I'll try later this week. I'm really pleased that you like the cardi. I like the fact that the collar drapes a little. On really cold days I can layer over a roll neck sweater and actually open the cardi a little more which creates more of a drape effect.

Janet, I do find the Pikolinos really comfy and they're so well made.

Claire, I probably will keep this on till about 9pm when I'll pop on my nightwear and robe after a shower. I find skirts to be comfy

<3 <3 <3! This reminds me of my Catholic school uniform when I was in first grade. I loved that uniform, and was so proud, because I was a 'big' girl. (we didn't wear uniforms in kindergarten).

Your outfit doesn't look like a schoolgirl uniform! But I love the plaid It's a very happy association for me.

I really like this outfit. The plaid skirt and cardigan go so well together. The interesting details of the cardigan and a lovely color add to the outfit. And textured hose and burgundy booties are the icing on the cake!

This is really, really stylish in a subtle way,with every element working. Love that you picked out the wine colour in the skirt for the cardi, and how the boots work without being too matchy. The hose are an inspiration, and add just the right amount of textural interest. This is all either very well thought our, or wonderful serrindipity.

Oh Diane - this is one of my favourite outfits of yours EVER! I love everything about it - the pattern with the plaid and the tights, the boots (gorgeous!) picking up the reddish tones in the skirt, the proportions….I could go on and on...

Carla, the red tone in the skirt is actually brighter than wine, yet weirdly I have discovered that I can wear lighter, corally reds and deeper wine reds with it and it sort of takes on that hue. Very handy for variety Oh, and I like to think I kind of planned the outfit, but I think there was a bit of serendipity at large too
