Keturah, I took it as a compliment, so thank you! Socks bore you but sweaters don't?! Socks finish more quickly than sweaters, lol (almost done w the 2nd sleeve of my first sweater, so I know whereof I speak). I love how socks are big enough to let you play with all kinds of lace/cable/etc. patterns but small enough to travel well/not get overwhelming. I've never knit a pair of plain socks: that sounds boring. But then, I'm a newbie to sweater knitting, so maybe I just don't know about the other side yet. I do love knitting hats. Oh, if you're going to knit a pair of socks, I highly recommend picking a pattern w some kind of ribbing. Makes the fit so much easier!

Thank you so much Hil.

E, I know, I'm crazy. I pour a lot of thought, creativity, love, and joy into sweaters. They really don't bore me because they're worked in various sections/stages of construction, so they're always changing. You must just try one sweater. Something seamless with raglan sleeves is quite nice, and rather simple -- especially if you already know how to knit socks.

For socks, even thought they do have sections, I don't find them as satisfying. Perhaps because, other then when I'm cold and the fact that I appreciate hand knit socks, I don't actually like wearing socks. But I do so love to wear hats and sweaters. Maybe that's it... Thanks for the ribbing suggestion. I'll keep it mind should I try socks again.
