Short & sweet today. As Museum Gal styled a dress inspired by me, I decided to wear one of my pairs of dangly earrings that remind me of her style! I used to wear big earrings like this a lot (in my early twenties), but then changed hairstyles & didn't touch them for ages. I ended up passing on all but two pairs, that I kept because my niece gave them to me as a birthday gift. She picked them out all by herself when she was five. I adore this pair because they have evil eye beads on them, one of my favourite cultural touchstones.

So I started with the earrings. Their boho feel made me want to wear something fluid, and the brass metal seemed like it would play well with this top. It's a super lightweight rayon knit that I was thrilled to come across a couple months ago, as I had no spring/summer jumpers/pullovers at the time. My favourite part is how each section is knit in a slightly different stitch and the hems have those fabulous points! I tried to capture this in a regular detail photo, but it looked strange, so I ended up taking a flat photo of it instead. And I obviously should've ironed the poor bow.

Ideally, I'd have paired it with a burgundy bottom to pick up the red in the earrings. But it was really hot & sunny today, so I knew I needed to wear shorts, and I don't have any red shorts (...this is how my closet keeps expanding...). I went with grey ones instead & wore burgundy sandals & bag and my garnet ring to add some hints of red.

My hair went up because of the heat & to show off the earrings: it was fairly tidy most of the day, but I took these pictures after an extended fetch/keep away play session with my puppy.

I was amazed at how well this sweater handled the heat: it hit over 100 today, but I didn't feel at all stifled in it as I ran errands this afternoon, and I run hot (I mean, obviously I felt hot in a car in those kinds of temperature but not once did I feel the sweater was contributing to that).

Comments, critiques & suggestions for next time welcome, as always!
