WIW: Drapey Tee & White Leather

Can you believe I ever doubted the merits of owning a white leather jacket??? I have worn this one A LOT since I bought it last summer. I have realized that white can be just as versatile in my wardrobe as black.

Today's outfit is a simple black knit pencil skirt, paired with a graphic drapey black and white tee (BTW I realized when seeing the pics how sheer the tee is and I now have a cami underneath). I added sheer black hose and my black pointy toe kitten heel pumps. We're finally in the plus temperatures and I felt like wearing shoes instead of boots for a change. On top of everything is my white leather jacket. Handbag choice for some colour and texture is my cobalt/cream/black quilted beauty. Red specs round out the outfit.

I have fallen in love with soft drapey tees for tops - they are brilliant for layering without bulk and extra body heat, and work well with jackets and on their own.

So what do you think of today's outfit? Does it work? as always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Love the "dressed up tee" look. The combo of the casual tee and white leather jacket with the more classic skirt and kitten heels really reads as "downtown chic." Together it all looks fantastic on you. Love it!

Technically, mine is kind of lightweight for winter, but I didn't let that stop me from wearing it this winter, albeit with layers beneath. I'm excited to wear it with spring outfits too. This one is killer on you.

How do you keep the leather clean?!? You look super fab as always. It cracks me up that you wear much cooler (in both senses!) outfits in Canada than I can wear in mild California because you run hot and I run cold. I could never wear a short-sleeved or sleeveless top under a blazer or jacket until summer or fall!

Donna - I have leather protector that I buy from Danier and I frequently treat my jackets. It does a great job at helping repel stains.

Peri - yes it is a dancer on the tee. I'm not sure if smart set delivers to the US but I could find out. I could pick up the tee for you if you wish and if they still have it.

I am firmly convinced I could never be without a leather jacket in my wardrobe.

Yes to the drape! The drapey underlayer with a structured topper is such a modern twist on the fitted base with drapey topper we've had in recent years. It looks amazing on you, and the white near the face is perfect. You're busting through the late winter malaise with real style!
