WIW: Dotty, Slouchy, Silky, and Artsy

Just a couple of basic WIWs from this weekend. The weather is finally warm, so I needed outfits I could wear without a jacket, which I struggle with; it always makes me feel a little unfinished.

1- Out to dinner with friends: Eileen Fisher slouchy silk ankle pants
Ann Taylor polka dot top, kind of semi-tucked- does this work?
J Crew tortoise wedges. (this is a picture I took previously, but this is the first time I wore this outfit like this, without a jacket)
2- Brighton color block clutch, and hammered wide silver cuff. What I wore but not in outfit picture.

3- To an art fair on a HOT day, so wanted to keep it breezy and simple, and wear comfortable shoes for walking. (well, OK, I'm not WEARING anything artsy, but it was an art fair!)
Vince ink blue silk top, NYDJ white denim skirt, Gentle Souls sandals (the most comfortable sandals EVER!) Nat & Nin yellow cross-body bag.

#1 is is so fab, I am going to have to borrow Angie's shocking pink crash helmet before I faint!

I love both outfits. I love the white-on-white pattern of the top in #1, with the black trim to tie it to your pants. The low throat of your shoes exposes skin which echoes your black and white theme.

Blue and white is just one of the best summer combos ever, and I love the scalloped hem on the top to make things interesting and to accentuate the blue against the white. The pattern makes the sandals interesting while the color preserves your leg line. And what could possibly be a better accent than a yellow bag?

Adelfa, I had to go back and look at the picture to see what the blue top looked like- the funny thing is it's just a shirt-tail hem with a front pleat- no scallops, but it does kind of look like that in the picture. I guess it's just how it's hanging since it's a loose top.

WOW!! You make that Ann Taylor top glow! It's a fabulous look, and the semi tuck is perfection. I love #2, also - the white, blue, gold, taupe are so fresh together.

Both look fantastic. I think the black trim on the first top just makes the whole thing work that much better - more finished somehow, in the place of the missing jacket.

These are both lovely outfits Parsley but #1 is absolutely standout. Its soft and unstructured yet sharp and crisp which I feel is due to the black and white.

I like both a lot! I feel the same way about going sans jacket, but you have enough interest going on with the dots, slouch, color, and sandals. Awesome!
