Two posts in three days, I’m surprising myself I admit your lovely comments on my previous thread had gotten to my head and I thought I’d just try and see how far this elevator WIW series can carry on.

If I had to describe in one word how I felt about this outfit, it’s - contented. It’s a precious to be able to forget about what I wear and to be able to get on with my day, the feeling helps me feel grounded on hectic days, which is why I like to deconstruct how I got there so I can replicate it.

This outfit does not get more classic and it could be made even simpler by leaving out the scarf. It’s also in no way exciting, but it’s right for me and my environment, and consists of individual pieces where each one is much loved, comfortable and fits just as I want it to.

The base of the outfit are white jeans rolled up to create tapered effect. These are not my favourite ever pair, but good enough replacement I could find given that weight loss last year left me without my entire old jeans capsule. They are not the right length when not rolled up, falling between PPL and cropped length, but they are a place-holder while I search for the right pair, because what’s summer wardrobe without the white jeans, right?

The navy knitted top is an upgrade of the previous one I had. It’s a base for softer take on B&W combination and the neutral which established itself strongly in my cold-weather wardrobe too. My style evolution, so heavily influenced by the Flavia series of outfits (for those who remember it) has been about about identifying the right cuts, fabrics and colours for me so the dressing can be effortless, and this top - however basic and plain it seems - is a good example of applying some principles.

The rest are old pieces. My husband once said “Stick to something long enough, and fashion will catch up with you”. I’ve been wearing lace-up espadrilles for years as a pretty and comfortable summer footwear, and I need to replace almost all pairs with the lower heeled versions, so the style becoming trendier will hopefully ease that search.
The neckerchief scarves never left my wardrobe and I added one to this outfit in a new to me way - I tied three knots to make it look like a necklace, which reveals just enough graphic details to tie it in with the bag and the pearl stud earrings.

What do you think? Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend.
